apply at a game dev company?
but honestly... for a programming job, learn C++, know the basics of a game loop and know your data structures.
learn how to optimize and make things faster.
try modding every once in a while.
for an art job, learn 3D. Max or Maya is preferred. Also learn Z-Brush if you want it to be next-gen.
for a designer... play lots of games... and I mean GAMES... not just video games. A lot of ideas are out there in the real world as well.
learn Flash because it's easy to prototype on fun.
speaking of fun... philosophize on fun.
at dahil Atenista ka, philosophize on what's right. Making a game about the bus shooting incident may be fun, but it's not right.

problema sa flash kelangan ko ng graphic artist im not good enough in creating visual styles
prototypes don't have to be pretty... kelangan mo lang patunayan na fun yung concept mo
kung may maganda ka nang concept, tsaka ka kukuha artist para flesh out yung graphics ng Flash

either that, or file away your "improvement" so when you do come out with a game, keep that mindset of streamlining/improving your concept
