like polynomial factorization !

x3 - x2 + x -6 = (x2 -3) (x-2) (x+3)

something that looks like that

but what i pasted is wrong. if its right im a genius

hasn't done any math more complicated than multiplication and division since high school
carissa says

factorize (x-2)(x+2)= don't you use FOIL for that? :-&
carissa says

or do i have it backwards? lol.

that example you put above is not factorable.. fully

x^3-x^2+x-6
carissa says

x^3-x^2+x=6
carissa says

x(x^2-x+1)=6
zenriot says

you can factor polynomials like that into 3 factors as he showed there.. through some kind of math voodoo.
carissa says
but that innner equation can't be further reduced into two polynomials. at least i can't figure a way
zenriot says
the way you've done it, no. But there's a way to factor that first equation into 3 (x + n) terms.
zenriot says

he tried to show me last night - it's voodoo!
carissa says

well i went to catholic highschool and jr high. they don't teach us voodoo there.. HAH
