Brad, it was first conceived as a low budget indie. It received less than half the production money of Harry Potter.

$37M doesn't get very far in today's hollywood production values, I mean, the effects were done by frigging ILM and they still sucked.

You'd think ILM would at least put out a product that makes them look good.

But, i'm still not defending the film, it still could have used better directing/acting/screenplay.
