Because they want you to go back to the store and buy a separate cable from them for $20. It's just another corner cutting/$ making scam.

stores make a ton off accessories b/c they are so cheap to make...

when I need a cable, I go to work and raid the cabinet for the dozens of old cables stashed in there. When they buy stuff, it ALWAYS comes

with the cables, and they save the old ones in case people need them later on.
