and this was a rather small snowfall (2-4 inches) compared to other storms. It just all came within a few hours.

the UK is just not set up for snow . As pretty as it us, it just causes chaos.

as a northern/midwesterner, we are used to snow. But, large amounts at once can create huge hazards.

usually, under 4 inches is a small amount. Unless it all comes at once.

we start to shut down for a bit when it is 6-8 inches.

but it isn't unusual to occasionally get storms where it is up to 10-12" in some places - sometimes more.
