You'd love Hilton Head Island, SC then. It's known for its golf courses. Plus, it's halfway between Savannah and Charleston for the history.

You should get some great deals since it's off season, too.

everything you could possibly want. It's close to the mountains, a few hours from the beach, great schools and a fun downtown.
