our special education department ignores their kids until it's the end of the quarter or they are going to be observed. Hate them.

sounds familiar - we don't have a department, but admin. doesn't follow up on our few special ed kids until about 2 weeks till report cards

then wants us to work miracles to MAKE these kids pass

I'd like to take that cloth and wrap it around their face and hold it.

we don't have the staff or training to accept severe cases, so most our special needs kids are ADD and ADHD

most of ours are parents. Yeah, I said it. LOL

for their major subjects, they are placed in smaller classes so that they can get one-on-one time from us

as long as they are working and following directions, they will make it, so the ones who don't are the ones who are lazy or apathetic

I have a hard time when we teachers are blamed for not "doing your part to give these kids a little extra help
