not a regular shopper, so I don't join such groups. I see others get very excited about new releases though.

most of my groups are Japanese which often aren't fashcon members or blogged frequently...groups keep me in touch

So alternates seem to be the way, given that my company has a blog, is a fashcon member, theoretically will be on various fashion feeds...

Hmm wasn't too hard to make.. used php/mysql as a back end. Mine did quite a few things SOM didn't too.. no web interface on mine though.

there is a new sorta twitter like in world service called "Ping" that might help it can give updates, LM's and such to folks wearing the hud
