There are reasons why S.D. public transportation isn't used by more people. It cost me less in gas and to park than take the bus/trolley

and I get there at a more consistent time.

we have similar issues up here in our area. I could take the trains to work, but would have to add +30 minutes to my commute.

and since it would take all 4 trains I waste a ton of time waiting for each transfer.

Exactly! It also cost $72 for a monthly pass. For $18 I can have a parking permit and the rest would make up for it in gas.

and they wonder why we do not even consider public transportation in Southern California unless we absolutely have to use it.

So frustrating. I'd prefer to take the trolley but not feasible

I watched the building of the trains and thought that it would be a great way to get to and from work. Since they did not run the blue line

straight to Union station, it adds a two stop jump on the red line just to get to it. Making a 4 train trip.

If I was commuting during rush hour, it would be a wash on time and worth it .... almost.

Yeah, I timed the drive this morning and it's much more convenient. They give no incentive to take public transport.

I live 30 miles from work. It'd take me four hours by bus/train. Versus the 30-45minute drive . . .

my commute is 32 miles by car. takes +/- 50 minutes in the morning and +/- 80 minutes in the evening. Train 110-125 minutes each way.

I think I'd still be more apt to take public transportation if they lowered the cost. I can always do my homework while commuting.
