Yes, but no electricity required. Unfortunately, they only work in dry climates.

In Mali, on the other side of the Sahara, we would get a beach towel wet, wring it out and go to bed.

The hydro evaporation cools you off while the towel over you dries.

Some folks would just take a shower and go to bed wet. That will cool you for a few minutes, but a towel works over an hour.

Our kids ask for an *air conditioner* when it is hot at night. :-)

if there were, I would buy one. It would be even better if there were a blanket that did **both** .
