what's the difference between lip gel, creme and stain? i don't know much about make-ups

In real life, the difference is texture and opacity. Stains leave nothing but color on your lip, cremes are thicker and basically opaque,,

gels are somewhere in the middle. Although, some stains are quite dark and gels can be pretty light.

So, um, look at the pretty pictures!

The textures are different, the stains are more matte looking, the cremes are a bit more shiny but the gels are the shiniest.
