I picked my friend Paul up at work and we went to my house and the power was out for the whole neighborhood
the power has never been out here for more than 10 minutes. We always assumed we were on the same grid as the hospital and fire station
firestation, yes, hospital, no
anyway, we went out for dinner and went to his house to pick up a tv and then came back...
so we lit a bunch of candles and moved the tv in
and I was showing him some stuff that I got recently
and I showed him the space ships from Starfarers of Catan
the cool thing about Starfarers is that instead of dice, you have these
spaceships
and you shake them (preferably while screaming on behalf of any passengers) and little balls fall down and that tells you how far you move
so to demonstrate the spaceship, I picked one up and shook it--- instant power restoration to the neighborhood...
but the really weird part is this
my wireless network doesn't work
my wired network is fine but wireless is out. I've restarted it several times.
my upstairs neighbor's wireless is also out-- I have their wep key in case of emergencies
but my cell phone *also* can't connect and the tower is up the hill in an area that didn't lose power
it's almost like there's some major electrical interference that is keeping the networks from working-- but...
other networks in the area are working. Only, there are half as many as usual
and the working ones have little signal strength like all of the nearby networks are down
Maybe Section 51 is working on a Super Weapon and decided to test it on a major urban neighborhood?
my cell phone still can't connect! It's been 3 hours and I've rebooted it twice
I kinda stopped at 'Starfarers Catan' -
The truth is out there...well, the mystery at least. The truth might be out there, but I sure as hell don't know what it is!
at SF General when a metal balloon blew out the power on the grid. The generators didn't come on. Big disaster.
you have a wireless disruptor to get the power back on. They have them at hospitals - had one at SF general.
if an EMP pulse was involved
really, CHiC? I am 3 block from SF General...
but the streetlights by general were on as well and I don't think the general's generators should be running those
