Greenland
is
going for a walk with some of her dogs.
came over to check when they were doing the sledding. He walks over, in a rather geeky jacket and warily falls into step with Mettalise -_
Careful of the dogs. 'Hey Miss Greenland...' it took a lot of effort for him to leave his house after the Korea incident >~<. 'How are you?'
smiles brightly when she sees him, keeping her dogs at bay. "Estlandi! I was starting to think you were going to avoid me forever. I'm great
just enjoying the nice weather today. How are you?"
Eduard
is
cold, not that he's going to say it. He watches the dogs, just incase. 'I'm fine, just wondering when the dog sledding thing is going to_
happen?' He sticks his hands in his pockets, walking by her side.
hums. "We could go now if you want? The rest of the team is back in the barn or around the house. But we'd have to get you dressed properly.
|It's all up to you, I can go whenever you want."
smiles, 'Whenever is best for you.'
grins. "Right now then. Just come up with me to the house, I'll get you warmer clothes." She whistles loudly and the dogs head off with her
following behind. "I'm sorry about the last time we saw each other.."
flushes, 'You don't need to mention it.'
turns a bit red too. "It felt better, to apologize in person to you."
nods, staying quiet. He's still embarrassed enough to want to avoid a conversation about it.
changes the subject really fast. "So, I like your jacket, but it doesn't look warm at all. What have you been doing lately?"
Eduard
says
, 'It's warm!' He insists in fact, 'Really warm!' There is a slight pause before he says, 'Just preparations...'
smiles. "Sure it is, but you need a warmer one.And preparations for what?" She heads up the porch and unlocks the door for both of them.
isn't sure she'll have any that fit him. 'For my Declaration of Independence Day.'
rummages through the closet for stuff. "Come in for a bit. Are you excited for your birthday then? I am!"
nods a little, smiling. 'I'm looking forward to all my people celebrating it... a lot of people still remember the day clearly.'
finds what she's looking for. "It wasn't that long ago though, so even the younger generations will remember. Plus you have a lot to
celebrate, you're one of the more fortunate countries over there. Put this jacket on, you can leave yours on too."
Eduard
has
been lucky, he knows that. He thanks her for the coat, putting it on under his own. 'I'd say people 30 and older will remember it well...'
smiles, 'And I'm hoping my brothers will all be able to come and celebrate.'
hands him a pair of thick gloves and a scarf. "I'm sure they will, and you'll be there for their birthdays as well." She stands on her tip
toes and shoves a fluffy toque on top of his head. "Now you'll be warm. How are your feet though? I have boots that should fit you."
blushes as the hat is placed on his head. 'They're fine... Mother.' He smirks a little, amused with himself.
makes a face at him. "I just don't want to turn around if you get too cold. Oh sled choice, you can either sit or hold onto me, which one?"
doesn't mind. He makes a face back at her, 'You pick, you'll be the one driving it.'
Greenland
has
to actually think about that. "You'll have to hang onto me, I'm better with that sled. Come on Estlandi, time for you to meet the team!"
mumbles 'It's Eesti,' as he follows her out to see the dogs. 'Okay.'
locks the door behind them. "In my language it's Estlandi. What do you want me to call you then?"
blinks, surprised she'd heard that. 'Eduard is fine... where's the team then?'
leads him to a large barn on her property. "In there, but let me warn you, they're not in kennels so they'll all come up when I open the
door, are you ready for that?"
... looks a bit worried, stepping back a tad. 'Y-yeah!?! Of course.'
takes him to a side door so it won't be as bad. "Disko might jump up, but he's young so he has bad manners. Hi everyone! I'm back!" She
kneels down to great the pack of dogs that crowd them when they get inside. "Be good everyone, we have a guest!"
pets the dog he knows, putting on an air of confidence. 'Hi guys.' Inside he is wimpering.
quickly grabs the harness of one dog before he jumps on him. "Sorry Eduard, this is the infamous Disko. But I caught him just in time.
They're really happy to see you." She gives each dog some attention, quickly checking paws to make sure they're not damaged. "They're ready
to go when you are."
's eyebrow twitches, but otherwise he keeps up the air. 'That's okay, pups will be pups.' He's just glad he knows the leader of the pack_
already, scratching behind his ears. 'I'm as ready as I'll ever be Miss Greenland.'
gets upright and makes her way to the equipment room. "You can look around while I get them harnessed to the sled. All my racing pictures
are over there, you can see how young I used to look." She brings the large sled out of the room and all the lines.
nods, going over to check out all the pictures. She does indeed look a lot younger, a cute red healthy glow to her cheeks as she beams at_
various camera's. This was obviously something she loved a lot. He stops at a recent one, of Greenland in mid-race. Face full of_
determination and he has to admit that it seems like a far cry from the greenland he knows. Here, she looks closer to her age.
works quickly since she's so used to this. "You can see as the years go on more of these guys joined me. You sure you're warm enough? I'm
almost ready over here. Now's the time to speak up."
startles, only catching onto the fact that Greenland ended on a question. He nods, turning to face her and watch the dogs... he wonders why_
they're staring at him :|
finishes up harnessing Disko, always the fussy one. "Okay, we're good. This is the first time I've tried out this splayed set up. Usually
I keep the line set up. Alright, from left to right we have Nuna, Sermeq, Seqineq, Atammik, Arsuk, Nanortalik, Pipaluk, Disko and Talut,
Nuuk will be out to keep an eye on everything. Just hop on the back here and we can go."
Eduard
will
not remember all these names. he makes his way over, feeling a tad foolish in his get-up as he climbs onto the back. 'You think the_
set-up will work?' he asks quietly as he wraps his arms around her waists, breathing close to her ear.
blushes a little from him being so close. "Ja, and it's safer too. I'll avoid the ice though." She fishes out her keys to open the main door
, automatic doors was the best thing she ever got. "Once we start moving don't let go of me or you'll take both of us off the sled."
nods, tensing slightly as his holds tightens minutely. 'I promise I won't.'
looks back and grins. "here we go!" She turns back to the front, face serious. "Hike!" The dogs start running immediately and off the go.
"They just get faster from here so hang on!"
gulps, hands fisting in the material of Greenland's jacket. He hides his face in her shoulder briefly, before peeking out. 'O-okay!' he_

says
, trying to sound compossed and failing >~<.
knows this can be a bit scary your first time so she tries to be reassuring. "As long as you hang on you're fine and you're doing a great
job at that already. If you need to move your feet slide them, don't take your feet off the sled."
Eduard
will
be staying where he is. He nods, silently and starts looking around to determine how fast they're going and to avoid getting travel sick.
Greenland
is
keeping them at a decent pace for now, not as fast as she would go. "Welcome to the beautiful country side! Kilometres and kilometres of
just snow and sky! I hope it isn't too boring for you."
shakes his head, laughing lightly. 'It looks pure... which is a rather amusing juxtapostion.'
would pout if she wasn't so focused. "What's that supposed to mean? Hang on tight, we're getting to a bumpy part."
tightens his hold. 'Nothing,' he chimes, watching the dogs out infront of them.
guides them over the rough patch with ease, keeping her focus between Nuuk and ahead of the dogs. "It's a rather large word to be nothing."
Eduard
wonders
if the dogs enjoy this, but guesses from their tails constantly wagging that it's the highlight of their days. 'If you say so.'
knows from experience that it's extremely difficult to make these dogs do something they don't want. "Keep your eyes closed for a bit, I
want to show you something, okay?"
hums in indecision but closes them eventually, trusting Greenland. 'Alright... if I end up in the snow...'
laughs at that. "You won't, I promise. Just don't open them till I till you too, it'll only be a few minutes till we're there."
nods, hands fisting in her jacket again in slight apprehension.
she grabs onto his arm as she takes them up a hill, just in case. After 5 minutes or so she finds the spot she was looking for. "Whoa guys.
Eduard, you can open your eyes, we're here." She looks down fondly at the small town on the bay and the seemingly endless ocean.
opens his eyes, a gasp greeting the sight. It's breathtaking...
smiles. "This is Tasiilaq, the 4th largest settlement in my country. Less than 2,000 people live here. Here, you can get off the sled now."

jumps off, looking down at the village. 'I'm guessing they live off of fishing?'
nods. "Fishing, building boats. Some people work at the Sermilik Station, which studies a near by glacier. And the heliport."
nods, kneeling down to pet Nuuk as he looks at the town. 'You seem very proud of it.'
smiles. "I'm proud of every town, village and house in my country. We survive against the odds here. I'm proud of everything really."
smiles back, 'You really do live against the odds huh.' He stands up and sticks his hands in his pockets 'Well... I have to say, I'm_
upset at the lack of greenery,' he teases, grinning. 'But it's a gorgeous country none the less.;
pouts. "I didn't name myself. It was a trick to get people to settle here." She ducks down and rolls together a snowball, hurling it at him.
shouts, feeling some snow trickle down his neck. 'A-ah!' he calls out, arching his back as the cold water slides down. 'That was a dirty_
move.' He quickly leans down to scoop up some snow, throwing it in Greenland's general direction.
lets it hit her near her face and falls down with a loud shout. She doesn't get back up, instead she rolls a bit, moaning in pain.
... panics. 'Greenland?' he asks, running over. 'Mettalise? Are you okay? Did something get in your eyes?' he kneels downs beside her,_
placing a hand firmly on her shoulder to stop her from moving.
grabs the snowball she hid and hits him in the chest. Her cheek is a little raw looking from where she got hit but its not too bad. "I
got you! It only hurt for a minute or so."
scowls, after making a small oof of surprise at the snowball in the chest. 'Cheat!' he says, flicking cold water in her face.
holds her cheek. "I only cheated a little, it really did hurt at first. Now it just stings.."
takes off his gloves and presses his hands her free cheek, attempting to warm it up. 'I'm sorry.'
*against her free cheek ((Orz, I'm sorry >.< such a fail at the moment. ))
sticks her tongue out at him. "I didn't expect you to actually hit me. You forget I only have to say the word to these dogs.."
pulls his hand back. 'I'm sure they can tell that you started it.' He glances at the dogs however, worry evident on his face
laughs at his reaction. "I wouldn't do that Eduard, so don't worry."
Eduard
says
, 'I know that.' He smiles, standing up. 'So is this why you brought me out here, to show off your town?'
nods. "To show you a really nice sight. Not everyone gets to see stuff like this, although it's not super exciting, just scenery."
nods, looking at the town again. 'Thank you for showing me this then.'
gets up and looks out. "I like the ocean the best, because across the ocean is all of you guys."
blinks, 'Ahh, so if you kept going forward you'd hit Denmark or something?'
shakes her head. "Iceland first, then Ireland. I get less lonely when I look out and know everyone else is just over there."
frowns a little, 'Well, you can always pop by mine if it's not too far for you.'
looks a little shocked. "Really? No, I'm usually in Europe for things. I have some business with Russia soon anyways."
nods, 'Just don't be surprised if it looks like I've been up all night... I probably have.' He had grimaced at the mention of Russia, but_
hopefully Greenland didn't notice.
did but doesn't comment on it. "I usually look just like that too. I get really absorbed in whatever I'm doing."
nods, 'Especially when it's upping your kill count.'
laughs at that. "This is why I like you, you get it and don't make fun of me for gaming all night."
smiles, 'Kindred spirits, eh?'
hums. "Hmm I guess so, even though sometimes you act way too mature. You ready to head back for that berry crumble I promised?"
looks out at the view one more time before nodding. 'I suppose, I think I'm ready to die...' He bites his lip, trying to hide his amusement_
as he makes his way back to the sled.
checks all the dog's paws quickly before taking her place back on the sled. "Think you'll be more comfortable on the way back?"
blinks, before nodding. 'Yeah, I think so. Why?'
looks at him over her shoulder. "You were clinging awfully tight." she turns back, grabbing the lead. "Hike!"
startles grabbing onto her back. 'I wasn't even ready!'
laughs at that, they barely moved. "Hang on tight then! Unless you want to fall off."
holds onto her coat from the back, not wanting to hold on too tight.
reaches behind her and grabs his arm. "We're going down hill in a minute so unless you want to fall off wrap your arm around me and stay
close, it's a bit dangerous this time of year."
loosely wraps his arms around Mettalise, 'I think you're just after a couple of hugs.'
smiles a bit as she scans the area. "I would have taken you up the mountain for that then. You wanted adventure didn't you? Hang on.." She
carefully steers the sled and dogs down a less steep part that looks packed in. "If the snow gives out jump, don't worry about me."
tightens his hold minutely, not answering. He's not just going to leave her :|
holds her breath, she should have thought this out better. She follows Nuuk carefully and doesn't breath until they're at the bottom. "Well
wasn't that fun?"
Eduard
is
quiet for a moment before laughing. 'Yeah, hilarious.'
laughs a little too. "Don't worry, I'll get you back safe and sound." She gets the dogs to go a little faster the time but still not going
at her regular pace. "Just remember, if I say jump, do it."
nods, planning to take her with him. 'Alright... but try to avoid that, okay?'
looks around and gasps with excitement. "See up on the hill on the other side? That giant moving white thing, that's a polar bear!"
looks up, he's only ever seen a polar bear in captivity... and with Canada. He pushes up his glasses, 'Smart!'
keeps them moving forward though. "It's too far so you don't have to be worried. But we can't go through there to get back, we'll have to go
around the other side. You're not cold right?"
shakes his head, he's fine for the time being. Perhaps a little tired. He shifts his hold on Mettalise, 'I'm fine, no need to worry.'
takes them around a bend, making up lost time on a flat straightaway. "We're almost there, you can see the barn in the distance."
squints, trying to spot it. 'I'll take your word for it.'
Greenland
has
pretty good sight from being out here. "So would you ever like to come out here again or was once enough for you?"
Eduard
thinks
about it for a moment, 'I think I'd like to come out again...if that's alright with you Miss Greenland.' No chance in him stopping that now_
that he knows she's older.
Greenland
is
happy to hear him say that. "It's Mettalise, Eduard. And it definitely is fine, I'd welcome your company any time."
smiles brightly, 'Thanks Miss Greenland.' Nope, not going to happen.
frowns deeply. She pulls his hands off her, feeling a little spiteful. "TASSA!" The sled comes to a sudden as she pulls down the break so
he'll fall back. "I told you I don't like Miss Greenland."
((*brake))
falls backwards into the snow with a short cry, lying on his back. '... right, Mettalise.' He pouts, feeling slightly uncomfortable and cold
now. Perhaps this is why he didn't really bother with girls other than Ukraine and Belarus, and the latter only when he had to.
kneels down and holds out her hand to him. "Sorry, that was uncalled for. It's just frustrating hearing you call me that, it makes me feel
like we're not actually friends. I shouldn't have done that though, you're not hurt, right? I didn't even think about any ice around.."
had banged his head, and he's not sure if it's wet from the snow of blood. He nods, successfully hiding a wince. 'I'm sorry..' he says,_
taking her hand to get up. *or
pulls him up slowly, just in case anything is injured. "Does anything hurt and please be honest. I'm really sorry Eduard, that was so
childish of me. Here, if you're okay hop back on, I'll get you back as fast as I can. I don't want you getting frostbite."
shakes his head. 'My head only hurts a little,' he lies, a bit shocked at her change in attitude, 'And that might be from the sudden_
whiplash at your personality change, I'm not sure yet.' He smiles, standing up. 'Let's get back and have some hot chocolate?'
looks away sheepishly and quickly gets on the sled, pulling the brake. "I get frustrated, rather quickly and I do stupid things like that.
I am really sorry, we can check for injuries back at the house."
climbs onto the sled, giving her a reassuring smile to show that he isn't too bothered. He's shaken though, the sudden change of mood_
rather reminiscent of Russia. 'It's okay,' he says, hold on Mettalise light.
flinches a bit away from him. "Sorry Eduard." She doesn't say much else as she gets the sled moving again towards the barn. Once they're
inside she steps away quickly and starts unharnessing the dogs quickly. "If you want you can wait for me inside, I have to make sure these
guys are not sore anywhere and put the stuff away."
nods, taking off his things and hanging them up. 'I'll go turn on the kettle,' he says as he leaves.
checks on all the dogs and puts the lines and sled away before turning on the heat inside the barn for them. Once she's done she heads to
the house, feeling very ashamed of herself. She wouldn't be surprised if he was long gone by now. "H-Hey Eduard?"
startles slightly, having spent some time staring at a mug. 'I-I'm in the kitchen!' he calls out, setting about to make the hot chocolate_
he'd neglected.
goes into the kitchen and keeps her distance from him as she grabs the berry crumble from the freezer and puts it in the oven. "That might
take a bit, I don't know if you wanted to stay that long.."
smiles. 'D-don't think you're getting out of feeding me that easily,' he attempts to tease, giving an attempt at a laugh afterward.
looks down at the ground, tearing up a little. "I'm such an idiot. No wonder my only friends are my pets. I-I was going to grab you before
you fell, just to give you a little scare but I didn't turn around fast enough. I'm really sorry Eduard, I hope you didn't get hurt.."
can't stand seeing a girl cry, eyebrows furrowing. 'It's fine Mettalise,' he reaches out to rub her shoulder. 'I should apologise for_
overreacting.'
covers her face, shaking her head. "I-I'm a terrible friend and I made things awkward between us. You probably don't even like me anymore!"
... pulls her into a hug, hushing her. 'No you didn't really... but you're making it awkward now,' he teases, patting her back.
hugs him tightly. "You're not saying that to make me feel better right?"
shakes his head, 'No. I overreacted before. I really am fine so don't worry.'
pulls back, blushing a bit. "I guess I better start on that dinner I owe you then."
laughs, fishing a handkerchief out of his pocket. 'Yep, I'm starving.'
rummages through her kitchen for stuff. "I've been practicing for days so it won't be too bad. You don't have to eat it if it is."
offers to help, 'I'm sure it'll taste fine... I have had Finland's cooking remember.'
chokes a bit when she remembers the last meal he cooked. "I'm not nearly that bad. Hmm what do you like to eat?"
Eduard
thinks
, 'Rhubarb pie... black sausage... rye bread.'
doesn't have the first two. "I have rye bread, I have this stew I froze, I can cook that and add vegetables."
nods, 'That sounds good, but you don't have to go out of your way for me.'
shakes her head, getting the container from the freezer and turning on the burner. "This is probably the easiest to do." She fills a pot
with a bit of water and puts the frozen contents of the container in as well. "This won't take too long. Want to watch tv or play a game
while we wait?"
nods when a game is mentioned, although he wouldn't mind watching the TV either. 'Sounds like a plan,' he says, finishing the hot_
chocolates. He hands one to Mettalise, 'Got any good films?'
holds the mug carefully. "I have a lot of American films, the rest are Danish and Norwegian. You're welcome to choose one.
nods, thinking that's fair. He'll probably opt for an American one. He has a bit of an admiration crush on the guy. 'What kind of American_
films?'
takes a seat on the couch. "Comedies, romances, some animated ones, a couple action ones. I have a lot of disney too."
looks through the DVD's before picking Avatar. He knows Navi and everything, 'Ahh, a really good selection then.'
hasn't actually seen this movie. "Just remind me to add the vegetables in a bit, it'll simmer for awhile. Have you seen that movie?"
nods, 'I love it.' He bends over to put the disc in, smiling brightly. '*It's the best*' he says, in Navi.

stares, that definitely did not sound Estonian. "I haven't seen it yet... what did you say?"

blinks, 'Then you have to see it...' He flushes a bit, fumbling with the case. 'I said it was good, in the language of the film...'
tilts her head. "The film has it's own language? I guess I should leave the house more. Lets watch it then, you seem to like it."
isn't giving her much choice in the matter it seems. He takes up his position on the other end of the couch, picking up his hot chocolate._

hands him the remote and quickly checks on the food. "A little while longer for dinner." She curls up with a pillow at her end of the couch.
"Is there a lot blood?" She doesn't like movie blood. ;w;

trust that he's right. "Y-you'll tell me when to close my eyes if there's any scary parts right?" Wow, she sounded like such a baby. "I'm
sure I'll be fine though, can't be too scary.."
shakes his head, 'It's not scary. It's just like Fern Gully... if you ever saw that.' He shifts on the couch, to get comfortable.
lies back on the couch and dangles her feet over the side edge. "I loved that movie! You have really good taste in movies then Eduard."
rolls his eyes, 'Ahh thank you for telling me that, I wouldn't have known otherwise.' He flicks her forehead, before getting settled into_
the film.
mock glares up at him. "That hurt you know." She turns to the tv to watch the movie, holding the pillow across her chest just in case it did
get a little scary. "Just tell me when we're about half way in and I'll get dinner."
nods, 'Okay. That sounds like a good time to take a break.'
doesn't respond back, she gets absorbed into film rather quickly. Damn these were good graphics. She can see why he likes it so much.

is
sitting there with an idiotic grin on his face the whole time. Yes, he is a fanboy.
stares at the screen, turning red. "They don't wear a lot of clothes in this film.."
blinks, 'Ahh, but that's just their culture...'
nods. "I know, I was just pointing that out because your grin was starting to get creepy. You like the film, not the amount of skin right?"

just checking. "I was just asking, I've never watched a movie with a guy who wasn't family before. I was wondering why you looked so happy."

close to pointing out that they're practically family. 'It's just that good a film.'
would just tell him he's wrong anyways. "It is really good, sorry for disturbing you."
shakes his head, stretching. 'It's fine... that's about half way through though.'
gets up quickly. "I'll go get dinner then!! Pause it, I don't want to miss anything!" She scurries to the kitchen to stop the oven and stir

cutting up vegetables and adding seasoning. "No, I'll bring it out so we can keep watching it!" Once she deems it edible she ladles it into_
bowls and cuts the bread. "Hey, this doesn't look half bad! Come grab your bowl, I don't want to spill it."
takes the bowl, feeling a tad bad... 'If you're sure...' He's not sure he wants her eating when a sex scene is about to come up though....
Greenland
is
a little unsure at why he's being so hesitant. "We'll eat in the kitchen then, okay?" She takes her bowl and the bread to the table and
takes a seat. "It wouldn't have mattered eating in the living room, I do it all the time."
Eduard
says
, 'But then we wouldn't have had a chance to talk.' He gives her his brightest smile, glad he avoided the disaster as he sits down.
stares at him, waiting for him to try it. "Tell me if it tastes good.." She's really worried it's bad but is trying not to show it.
takes a bite, humming in approval. 'It's good!'
eats a bit, it tasted good to her. "You can be honest, you won't hurt my feelings."
shakes his head, 'I mean it. It's good.'
smiles brightly. "There's more if you're still hungry after that. The berry crumble has to cool for a bit still." She continues eating,
happy that someone actually liked her cooking for once.
continues eating also, a tad surprised that it was this good.\
finishes up her dinner and puts her bowl in the sink. "The rest of the movie is really good too right? I hope it's not sad."
