snuck in and stayed at the back of the group. She didn't know why she was here, she just figured she might as well check out this city...
points out the various tanks of fish with little to no enthusiasm. Sure, he loved water and sea creatures but he hated talking to people.
surprisingly interested in the fish he points out, occasioanlly staring at them while the group moves on, making her have to catch up after.
notices that she's more interested than the average person on his tours and wonders why. It obviously wasn't his amazing speaking skills.
wasn't paying much attention to him at all really, she only heard what he said about the fish, like their names and where they were most
common. At some points she stood near the glass and stared back at the creatures, smiling.
raises an eyebrow at this. Whoever she was, she was odd.
got back to hiding in the back of the crowd, kind of wondering why no one else seemed as interested...
really hopes that no one asks for a refund like the last time he gave a tour...
Søren
thinks 14 years ago
that anyone who asks for a refund is stupid... she got stopped at one tank, putting her hand against the glass. She was transfixed
on one of the colourful fish.
glances over and frowns slightly. He had to clean the glass after this. "Please don't touch the tank."
quickly takes her hand off, going back to hiding in the crowd, slightly embarrassed about being singled out. "Sorry..." She said quietly.
sighs and goes back to giving the tour with his previous enthusiasm. When the tour ended he turned away from the group and walked to a case.
stayed behind and looked at a few more of the creatures around, glancing at him once in a while.
seems completely focused on the different fish inside, his eyebrows knit slightly.
hesitantly walks up beside him, slightly back though. She watched the fish inside, enjoying looking at them.
blinks when the fish turns to face him, not noticing her behind him. He mutters something under his breath and the fish reacts.
tilts her head a bit, even more curious now. She looked between him and the fish.
reaches over and pokes the tank a little. The fish spins around in a circle and he smiles faintly.
smiles a bit herself and quietly takes a step forward, she was easily amused by this.
notices the movement and pulls away from the tank, not giving any sign of his surprise.
frowns a bit and steps back. "Sorry..."
shakes his head slightly. "You didn't do anything."
shrugs, looking to the ground a bit. "Thought I might have broken yer concentration..."
raises an eyebrow ever so slightly. "No, I wasn't concentrated on anything. Is there something you need?"
shakes her head and walks away to another tank, looking at the fish.
watches her leave before walking to a closet and pulling out glass cleaner. He'd just have to act like he was focused on cleaning now.
goes to put her hand on the glass again but stops, remembering what he said. She just stood close and stared at the fish.
starts cleaning the glass, paying more attention to the fish than the actual cleaning.
starts following a fish, smiling at it. It was pretty~
doesn't even notice her, he's too busy staring at a fish.
glances over at him and walks behind him again, watching.
once again doesn't notice her as he whispers something at the fish who swims closer to the glass.
smiles and carefully takes a step closer, amazed that the fish was so close.
notices the fish glancing at something behind him and turns, raising an eyebrow.
steps closer. "It's so close..." Stared at it.
frowns and steps away from her. "Yes, it is."
looks at it closely. "It's kinda cute..."
rolls his eyes and moves on to another tank.
frowns and looks down, feeling like she was being a bother. She headed for the exit.
glances at her as she leaves. He just didn't like talking to people too much.
pauses before going out. She turned, looking down and fidgeting. "Tak... for um... the tour."
shakes his head. "It's my job."
shrugs. "Either way... I found it very interesting..."
stares at her. "I doubt it but thanks."
frowns and looks slightly at him. "Nej, I really did... It was interesting..."
Lukas
wonders 14 years ago
if it's the end of the world. "Oh." He didn't know what else to say to her.
fidgets some more as she looked at a nearby fish. "Why is this place so empty...?" She noticed how everyone left soon after the
shrugs even though he knew everyone had just gotten bored and left.
frowns and watches the fish again, not wanting to leave just yet.
follows her gaze. "Why do you like the fish?"
shrugs. "He's just really pretty..."
glances at the fish. "It's a girl."
blinks. "Oh, my bad... I'm use to the males normally being more colourful, since they distract predators from the females..."
shakes his head. "No, they're more colourful in order to attract a mate. The male of that kind is even brighter."
smiles a bit. "Really? Is there one around here?"
walks up to the tank and glances in. He didn't see it and closed his eyes a bit. A fish appeared from behind some seaweed and swam over.
smiles widely and claps a bit. "He's so pretty!"
glances at the fish and nods a little.
"There's not much to dislike about fish..."
nods. "I've not seen fish this colourful before..."
glances between the fish. "There are lots of colourful ones."
looks over at him. "Really? There are?"
nods a little, looking back at the two fish. "I see... I'm not use to colourful fish like this."
goes back to cleaning, knowing he'll get in trouble if he doesn't. "There's a lot here."
follows him. "Really? Are there even big ones and small ones?"
nods and keeps washing the glass.
fidgets. "... Do ye mind taking me to them all and talking about them...?"
pauses. "Like a tour?" Didn't he just take her on one?
nods. "Ja, but... a really in depth one. I want to know everything I can about them."
raises an eyebrow. "Well everything about them would take a very long time."
fidgets a little. "Then... as much as ye can tell with the time left?"
sighs. "Fine, but it will have to be as I clean the glass."
nods. "That's fine..." Looks down a bit. "I could help clean if ye want..."
shakes his head. "No." He moves onto the next tank that had some tropical fish.
nods and follows him, leaning close to the glass and looks at the fish.
cleans the tank next to it so she could see the fish.
smiles. "So, what's their story? Where are they from? How long do they live? Are they always that colourful?"
"Tropical areas, 3-6 years, no, sometimes they have a duller colour."
nods. "I see..." She followed the fish with her eyes, really enjoying this.
"They're also hermaphroditic."
blinks at him. "Really? That's interesting..." Went back to smiling at the fish.
nods. "The female is the leader of the group and if she goes missing or dies, the toughest male becomes a female."
smiles more. "That's so cool. I like how it's the female who controls everyone..."
isn't surprised. He moves onto the next tank.
keeps close to him. "And what's their story?"
"Triggerfish. 5-10 years and not terribly friendly."
nods a bit. "I see...they're still cool."
shrugs as he cleans the glass.
looks at him and frowns a bit. "Ye really don't care... do ye?"
actually does care about fish but doesn't get along well with the triggerfish. "Maybe."
fidgets a little as she looked at the fish again. "Hey, trigger fish..."
The fish hits against the glass, glaring at her. Lukas glances over and smirks faintly.
glares back and crosses her arms. She was almost having a mental fight with the fish, even if she knew it couldn't understand or hear her.
The fish puffs up to its full size and keeps glaring, not about to back down.
glares more and leans closer. She wasn't going to let the fish win.
watches, raising an eyebrow. "Yes, because trying to scare a fish must be really great."
nods. "It is. Because they should be friendly. So I'm going to scare it to become friendly."
"You can't make them be something that isn't in their nature."
nods, still glaring at the fish. "True. But still."
rolls his eyes. "Just stop. It's a fish and it's stuck. You're not going to achieve anything from it."
crosses her arms and turns away a bit. "Fine. It's an ugly fish anyways..."
The fish gets visibly more upset at that and Lukas walks over and looks at it, trying to calm it down.
sticks her tongue out at it.
glances back at her. "I thought you said you were stopping?"
quickly turns her head away, cursing mentally at being caught.
rolls his eyes. "Well have you had enough fun taunting the fish for today?"
looks at him and nods a little. "I guess ye're going to throw me out now?"
nods a little. "I understand..." She grabs her wallet and pulls out some money, handing it to him before turning to leave.
follows her, holding the money out. "No, keep it."
shakes her head. "Nej... I'm just paying ye for yer extra time." Smiles a bit at him.
rolls his eyes. "Just take it."
shakes her head. "Nej. Not like I need it." Which she kinda did.
narrows his eyes. "I don't wither, so just take it."
shakes her head again and keeps walking. "Buy yerself something nice..."
growls a little under his breath. "Really, just take it. Buy something at the gift shop if you really want to get rid of the money."
looks back at him. "Look. I appreciate the tour, and I liked ye explaining things to me again. I just wanted to pay ye for yer service."
sighs. "Fine, whatever." He turns to act as if going back to work.
nods and smiles a little, glad she won. She turned back and continued walking out. Maybe she'd visit again...
concentrates and folds the money as small as possible before opening a spray bottle of water. A bit of water floats up into the air and_
he places the money on it. The water floats after her, carrying the money and slipping it into her pocket carefully.
totally oblivious to his action. She still felt successful for giving it to him.
smirks and goes back to work.
