great post...I think many of us feel the same way. SL does need rebranding, it has far more to offer than just virtual sex.

LL has let the lazy journalists dictate how the grid is seen by non members.

think windows 7 to Vista... it just makes me roll my eyes. I also notice a few more stories these days that aren't about virtual sex

the brand thing can really work - if other things change too... or it can just be, "oh you noticed we're still us... damn!"
