Had bloodwork done on him and the vet asked if I would okay some xrays for him because she was concerned about his breathing.
So I okayed it (I knew he'd need them) and good thing I did. He has SO MUCH fluid around his lungs that it was litterally compressing them
to half their size, which means he wasn't getting as much air as a cat should. Which explains why he wasn't moving as much and seemed so
So I okayed some fluid removal to help get some of it out so his lungs could expand fuller. Vet said they got some but not as much as she
had hoped but it's a start. The procedure is risky, she warned me cats have died on them before... but Ralph seems to have perked up.
He's mowing down on a dish of food right now. Like nothing happened. lol
So... not good news but not bad news.
well at least you know what the problem it is and can decide whether or not to go through with the treatment..
exactly. it's really up to my parents how far they want to pursue it, but if his pills keep the fluid from pooling again he may bounce back
maybe not 100% but if it gives him some comfort, it may be worth it
glad to hear they figured out the issue and he's doing a bit better. hopefully he'll be a lot happier now!
He was born in 1997, so yeah... he's up there in years. And thanks! <3 He's doing a little better.
