Hmmm, if you use <> with text immediately following it won't show up...
immediately inside that is. <tags> doesn't work, but < tags > does...
understand that the whole text will show up on the browser title window, but the Plurk header scrubs it.
so <in your html eatin your tagz> would be in the browser title bar, but not the plurk header
Or, in my original case I had "a few <tags> short of a page" and "a few short of a page"... bug?
