why does it seem like so many "success stories" are high school or college dropouts? what does that say about our system?

That we can succeed without school?
My favorite success story is one of my high school classmates. . . .
She had a kid right before our senior year. She went on to be on of our Salutatorians in the class. She then went to Kansas State University
graduating in 4 years with an engineering degree. Got a job in Orlando and making 6-digits. She now husband worked while she went through
school. Then, he went to school down in Florida as she was working.
Neither one dropped out of anything. They now have a 7th grade daughter and 1 year old son.
it means we aren't making a big enough deal out of all the "success stories" of those who make it through the system. We need to celebrate
