it only shows a white screen when I click "on"... apparently it's my own fault for letting the charge drain out of it while I was away.

yip, that's pretty much how it happened Todd. After loosing all juice, it now boots to a white screen.

I'm going to let it die again in the hope that it wakes up the next time around.

Apple are replacing my iPod... yayness extreme.
