My mom--I saw how dedicated and concerned she was for her students--and she was brilliant.

Dr. Metts in college awoke deep longings for learning by demonstrating what we should be able to do every class.

Sister Leo Marie in 8th grade. She was strict, but somehow it was her compassion for all of us that really shown through.

Dr. Joel Knapp vocal music taught us there is time to work and a time to play. His class was amazing.

High School band dir. gave me a true passion for music and showed me what can be accomplished with hard work

so many to name! Mr. Palmgren, 10th grade English, who taught grammar forward, backward, and inside out.

Mrs. Watson, 11th grade English, who taught me to say something coherent with that grammar.

Mr. Emerson, high school band, who I took *way* too much for granted.

Dr. Berney, calculus and differential equations in college. He got me "this close" to switching to majoring in math.

Dr. Smith, who I had for physics, statics, dynamics, and transport phenomena. Taught us how to think and how to solve problems.

I can't remember any of my teachers. Isn't that sad.

Mr. Qualls, my MS choir/music teacher who introduced this little farm girl to Bernstein's "Mass" and opera and performing.

also Mr. Rife, my HS band teacher who showed what a fun crazy world music teaching is!
