I don't need 5 computers in this house.
I'm going to get rid of my old monitor too, it's not that great.
What kind is the old computer?
It has a phenom X4 9600, 3GB DDR2, NVIDIA 8800GT Superclocked
What kind of monitor? All I got is this old free CRT I found. And I don't even like using it with this laptop. Doesn't feel right.
It's like I am dirtying this wonderful equipment with that old monitor.
I was thinking of selling the computer+monitor for $500. The monitor is a 21.5 LCD.
The computer alone I would sell for $425. The monitor has no dead spots, but the picture is not great.
Hmm. I have no cash for at least a week and then it's only $100 until payday.
Which is two weeks away at this point.
I paid like $1200 for the computer, and $150 for the monitor, so I think this is a good deal. It would be possible to upgrade the computer.
It's AM2+, so it might be able to take current generation AMD CPUs. More ram can be added, and it has PCI-E, so a modern video card works.
You willing to work out a payment arrangement?
250 this month and 250 next month?
I probably can pay it off quicker than that, but it would give me room to breath.
I could do that. One thing about the computer, though... I am using the hard drive and monitor right now, so I need to order replacements.
So it will be a week or so before it is ready to be sold.
That's cool. That way I'll have some cash to give you.
I'm going to have to look into an SSD.
They're cheap right now, and they are fucking awesome.
I would definitely recommend them.
That's a minimum requirement of mine for new PC, yours is capable of accepting one which will help.
Windows installed from a usb drive, in less than 15 minutes.
I still haven't done a Windows 7 install yet.
This is stock HP dm1-3020 Windows 7 Home Premium.
I don't even have an optical drive in my new machine, and I do not plan to get one.
I don't have an optical drive in this.
You can install Windows 7 from USB?
I need to learn this technique.
I prepared the USB stick to do it in less than 30 minutes.
Or is it better on USB stick?
I bought a USB3 16gb flash drive, it is insanely fast.
You can use any bootable usb drive.
But I can wait for a little bit. Really happy with this laptop.
Gotta figure out how to disable the touchpad though.
It's good while on the go, but at home it is very inconvenient.
I think I will end up averaging 5 hours battery life with my casual use.
My laptop has around 3 hours of battery life, or 4 hours with reduced settings.
It's a huge laptop with a huge battery.
Not that I ever have it unplugged, really...
