We did an Alien trial in Middle school and the kids loved it.

6th grade was the jury

7th grade was the defense

8th grade was the prosecution

The prosecution determined which offensser to charge human kind with and then both sides worked fervishly to plan a case

students called teachers, experts, and professionals to the stand to support their case

They had to abide by discovery rules and share hteir evidence ahead of time

we set up a scheudle

some years we had all day, others we had a shortened period - but it has become a right of passage in that middle school
