I use a funky litter box - the Breeze. It has a pad in the bottom and little pellet things for litter. The pee falls down to the pad.
"Someone" forgot to change it for a couple weeks (needs to be done weekly), and when I changed it this morning, pee spilled all over the
carpet. Now my house reeks. I am so grossed out and can only blame myself...
Any ideas on what else I can do to alleviate smell. Besides rip the carpet up.
I have used carpet cleaner on where the box was, placed a bowl of baking soda and a bowl of vinegar in the room.
Opened the window and turned the ceiling fan on high.
Scrubbed the entire litter box and replaced pad and pellets.
Threw out the mat that was in front of box.
I think I have exhausted my options...
my step mom has that Urine Gone stuff...
I can't remember the name of the product that was good at getting the smell out, I bought it at the vet . when I get home I'll look to see
cats, too. Try renting a carpet steamer: then use 1 cup of oxy clean & 1 cup of vinegar to 1 gallon of H20 - works wonders.
I don't do cats. We had one that ran off when we got dogs. I never considered it a loss.
we are down to just my Yoda, from a high of 3. she is 10. she is a wonderful cat, but I think she might be my last cat.
I used the small spotbot carpet cleaner with the pet solution. the room is smelling a bit better, but I can still smell it. grrr.
I told hubby about it. and to my surprise, he didn't say we needed to get rid of her. his usual response when it comes to the cat.
really recommends the vinegar/oxyclean/water combo. It works well.
if it works on dog messes, too. A carpet salesman once told me that they'll guarantee any stain will come out *except* dog messes.
Good to know. We have no carpet in the downstairs, but in the event of pukage upstairs I'll do that next time.
