taking a wild guess, but something to do with doing a placement now and carrying on with his degree on the old tuition fee system, right?

it's part of the course. It's a pass/fail component. you fail if you don't do it, otherwise you pass (obviously)

Minimum of 4 weeks placement, either paid or unpaid. That's pretty much the restrictions on it.

it's not technically a sandwich course, but you take time out to do the placement (which has been and gone, just fyi)

so to answer yumemi, I'm still technically on the old tuition fee level as I'm not leaving the course, but people who are taking a year

placement technically are, so they come back on it in the third year on the higher tier, which sucks.

You have to go unpaid unless you have someone who wants to hire you and pay you for that time. That's the short version anyway.

getting paid for the work he does...even if I feel like I work harder than some people but still get paid the same ¬¬
