Speaking of staying home, I want your opinion on something...

A friend has been encouraging me to apply for a call center job at the local electric company.
The pros are: $3.50 more an hour, shared cost healthcare, the potential to move up in the company.
The cons are: I've been working on finishing my degree and this isn't in my degree field, less time with the kids, more money spent on child
Care, less flexibilty (I never get any grief if I have to take off when one of the kids are sick)
The money is really tempting but I'm concerned that the cuts into my family will be too much
the money does sound good but I think the less time with family & not as much flexibility to be off when the kids need you are deal breakers
I think you guys are right.
if you really want a future in your degree field, i would pass. on the flip side, tough job market conditions are not going to change
anytime soon. but I agree with elle, less time with family is not a good trade off for more cash.
especially if increased child care costs are going to eat into the bottom line.
agrees with elle as well.
I get the sense that you already know what you want to do. Trust yourself. Doing what you think is right for you is always right.
agrees w/ mrald and wonders what your degree field is. (Just curious.)
I'm going back to get my masters in social work.
