suggests that just in case. also some ice and maybe some canned goods. plus wine and chocolate.
grins wine and choc are already covered. how do i cook w/o elec? i guess the gas grill. so ice for the 2 refrigerators
don't forget the water etc for the kiddles!
yes. i figure I will pick up another tarp and some bottled water today on my way home. and line up more buckets for my poor roof.

stay safe!
make sure you have propane. bottled water.
plus eat all the ice cream in the freezer. just in case
grin odds are that it will miss us. even when Floyd came thru about 10 years ago or so, we didnt lose power
earthquakes, hurricanes, record breaking heat. nothing like summer in NJ.
wait. aren't you inland from me?
i'm SOUTH of you. not sure about the east/westness of it all
hmm. Joisey City Heights here
does your roof leak? mine does. there is an underground stream next to or below my house. i have to hope the power stays on for the sump
otherwise, tbh, i'm more concerned with a major power outage from trees coming down, or something
I am not aware of it leaking. Do you know something I don't?
Where do I look to see what I should be worrying about? When are things supposed to get odd?
/me grins. hey. i didnt know for the longest time that MY roof leaked. they like to be very quiet about this kind of behavior.
odd? you're asking me when things around you will get odd?
oh! one more suggestion -- speaking of trees, etc.
don't stand under one that is falling?
yes? not that there's a whole lot i can do
i'd clear things off any outdoor living area that could be a projectile if the winds get really high
yes - i have to do that. my deck is set up with umbrellas, furniture, lights, a fan. the grill, the hot tub
i've seen lawn furniture go barreling across lawns before in tropical storms
ah, you mean the "Dorothy / Stephen King" kinda things...
the last 2 are going to have to stay there. grin
move plants back against the house or whatever
well, yeah. We are supposed to sit in the hot tub to watch the fun, no?
well, actually Dirk, I um had the feeling, um, oh this IS awkward
<<< veteran of many such storms. just a'tryin' to be helpful
i mean - i thought "odd" was kind of the 'norm' for you. grin
/me smiles at Janey. and we appreciate your advice. don't we Dirk. /me kicks Dirk under the table
grin i always care to dance
/me looks about SL. nope, dont see any dance partners here....
oh wait. are you saying my dancing is odd???
The advice will be appreciated by somebody that reads this and hadn't thought about it.
/me nods approvingly at Dirk. See Janey. he CAN behave
I live in an apartment so I can't use it but I have no doubt that it will be useful to somebody
i have to clear off the front porch as well. and i guess i should make room in the garage for my car. sigh
if i do all that, the storm will fizzle and not happen for us.
yeah, car should be inside or covered
before it gets covered by Mother Nature.
or needs to be covered by State Farm
or needs to be uncovered by FEMA
i had dinner near you recently - The Chart House in Weehawken. What a stupendous view of the city
I hear it is a nice place to eat.
it was a lovely evening. food was good, the view was fantastic
and you didn't invite me.
probably took your husband or something like that. my word.
thank you Janey! expect a lot of plurks on Sunday. won't be much else to do if we get as much rain as they say.
what DO y'all do down there during the storms?
/me laughs. this is true. was my Bday dinner. my husband WAS there.
btw, when is the nasty weather stuff supposed to happen? I wanted to take my kids to 6flags this weekend
shall I assume that is off?
saturday might be okay. a bit windy tho'. they might be closing rides
so do the dry park on saturday and the water park on sunday?
