after reading the first part, what I will say is that I have used Eclipse and it was fine
there were some niggles but it could have been worse
but it does go on to say that if you learn it properly it is really good and will save you a lot of time by code completion etc
very interesting to read how iOS does it's rendering
and it's interesting to see how the ui is redrawn each time
no wonder our heros were so damn slow
yeah - that is commonplace and, at least used to, be one way of drawing 3d graphics (Direct X used to do it I think)
but it was hardware accelerated with 3d graphiccs
