as i walked into the new lib with an iced latte which i rarely have(about 3 times/year), my entry was refused due to its container type.
or say denied. by the front desk
i insisted the plastic cup with a lid does not violate the lib policy of "spill-proof mugs only"
years ago, i would simply think they are jerks. i slpet early, woke up early, worked out, took a shower, had breakfast,
got a coffee to extend my working hrs, n tried to get ready asap sitting and working, but there is always someone else fucking me up
but now i appreciate every correction or even finding faults with me
it's an opportunity to improve myself yet again. i knew this long ago, but only to work till a certain level to shut others' mouths up.
but my mind changed. now i consider my life an everlasting improvement process.
so i even said thank you n good to know when they denied my entry.
this kind of new attitude happens quite often lately. perhaps since the beginning of this yr?
so i left the lib, went out of the building, thinking of drinking up. but i happened to order a large cup and wanted to save it for the
whole daytime
they seemed to ruin my whole day and my rarely seen good mood
it was still early, so i could have find an outside seat to spend time drinking up while listening to spanish learning podcast
fortunately, i brought my water container with me. a reused glass bottle form a vending machine. that's how keep water with me for
oh i mean, i used to get upset, but then i realized they are probably doing their job.
i mean, getting used to the fcking dirty old engr lib has significantly lowered my level of discipline.
the old engr lib have rules but never enforce them. so i became confused about the definitions of food, spill-proof, cell phone, etc
so at first i though the front desk at the new lib was simply annoying, but then i was happy to see that, in such a comfortable enviro,
im really happy to see this, as i was really happy to see ppl do care about public environ in central park(so they are willing to contribute
so i was so happy that they stopped me from entering the lib
oh right the glass bottle
so i drank half of the water, n drained the other half to the lovely garland(they wouldnt mind, said neddie, my big mama in the park)
then i carefully load the iced coffee into the empty bottle
this aint no some cheap coffee or starbucks sugar water
so i did it carefully. and thanks to the good finish of the plastic cup edge, i wasted no one single drip
haha and the bottle volume was just perfect for a large cup of my iced latte
i closed the bottle. made sure it didnt leak at all
again i entered the lib, showing the bottle/asking if my bottle was okay. i wanted to do everything confidently
the front desk, a young asian male student part-timer and a mid-age female librarian, was totally friendly to my adjustment
"make sure you dont break the..." said the mid-aged female librarian, not a native speaker
again, i am slightly pissed of bcuz i already did much to comply, yet they are still being critic and still/always have something to say
but then after a second thought
they do care about their job, their duty, their environment, and me
Mother Teresa once said, the opposite of love is NOT hatred. it's INDIFFERENCE.
they could let everyone with a non-spill-proof pass, and probably nothing would happen. even if there's spill, they not responsible for it
but they showed that they cared
well, this conclusion makes me think the old engr lib is truly a place without love
indifference. no one cares. horrible place. terrible ppl. indifference.
hard to express oneself, using a foreign language. plus that i cant type chinese now.
