yeah. There's a giant roll-around magnet thingy the roofing guys are supposed to use to pick up the stray nails; maybe you can borrow/rent?

I wouldn't know where to use it, there's a lot of newly built houses around us (50 or so)

and Damion, straight guys can CHANGE a tire and put the spare on, that's easy!
