never read the comments, dude
and i kind of 'love' that this person got e-mails from men
about the slut shaming i mean
I just have no words for that.
because I just wrote a response
RP, you have ruined my ability to shut my gdamn mouth while on the internet. /rubsface.
aaand after reading the whole article.... yes. I agree with everything they said, and............... /sigh
I wish that so much of my school AND freetime life were not involved with trying to fairly articulate bitter disappointment.
"...what matters is what you choose to show people and how you show them, not the reasons you make up to justify it."
I liked that quote. ^^
/complies a list of links to the best articles on this topic
oops I wrote a comment too
never read the comments on the internet'
well luckily it was just a comment to the article itself
the sentiment is right and on top of the sentiment, the fact that they have to keep using the same character personality over and over
indicates a lack of creativity
it's true. and there's a reason this has blown into such a big issue for some people.
it wasn't just any monthly release-- this reboot was supposed to introduce and establish these characters for a new generation of readers
(not gonna say what I think of that PLAN... but those were the terms)
...i think so far, i've been most disappointed by the Cat-and-Bat screw
half the reason i adored that relationship is that it was all UST and not doing anything about it
......or if they did, it wasn't said openly, on the pages
well, they were definitely going at it behind the scenes in a lot of stories-- but you're right. And just. So ooc Batman. SO ooc.
.............and not just a little rapey :|
While... yes, the reasoning behind these characterization is sound, there's also plenty of other perfectly functional alternatives.
And resorting to just this one conclusion every single time is uncreative and extremely repetitive.
if you don't have that one already
I HATE the new designs so much
Zatana's almost makes me want to cry
and she was so CLASSY, man. That was a classic look! Now it's just....
okay, of all of them Harley's kills me the most.
that Batman TAS design was friggin iconic.
my favorite description of the new one was some blog saying--
"how can we really SHOW that this person was, almost definitely, a contestant on Rock of Love?"
but yeah, that's..... not Harley
that's someone from Batman Begins, one of those trashy Joker Gang Girls, pretending to be Harley
