running around, grabbing at the falling snow.
stops and stares at the strange boy. She watched him quietly, assuming that his parents would come for him soon.
laughed as he jumped up to grab some snow flakes. He was having fun~
watches him still, before slowly looking up at the sky, watching the snow flakes fall in her face. She didn't know if she should approach
got called for, and he stopped playing, looking up at a man and woman who came towards him. He just blinked a few times and nodded, before
smiling and clapping happily. They both smiled too and then walked off.
watches him and the people she thought were his parents. She frowned, he was lucky..
watched them leave, his smile not fading. Soon after he went happily to running after snow flakes.
watches him still quietly, she wanted to warn him about ice, but she wasn't loud, or that willing to talk.
ran a bit more, before tripping and falling onto the ice, cutting up his knees and palms. He just blinked at first.
blinks and goes over to him. "Ah.." She said quietly, not sure what just happened. "Y'er bleedin.."
looks at her before sniffing a bit. His eyes started to water before he burst out crying.
stares a little shocked. "N-nej, don' cry." She didn't want him to cry! She knew what Mor Svea would do, but she wasn't around...
just continued to cry, not getting up from the ice yet.
doesn't know what to do fully, so she just kind of hugged him. "Don' cry.."
calmed down, just sniffling now and nuzzles into her a bit.
keeps hugging him. "Nej cryin.."
nods a bit, calming down more. He shifted a bit to look at his hands and knees. They were sore..
rubs his arm a little. "Good."
looks over to her as he wiped his eyes, getting blood on his face.
blinks, she reached up to wipe the blood away. "Where are y'er mom 'nd dad..?"
shrugs, and flinches away from her. "I-I don't know..."
nods a little. "Oh.." She didn't know what to do.
wiped his eyes a bit more before slowly getting up.
let him go, she was quiet again and looked away.
shook a bit as he stood. His knees were hurting him.
looks at his knees. "Do y'er knees hurt?" She blinked.
nods and takes a step, wobbling and falling into her.
gasps and falls over, she hadn't been expecting him to do that.
whimpers a bit. "I-It hurts..."
bites her lip for a moment. "I could take y' back t' y'er parents..?"
wipes his eyes a bit again, getting off of her. "N-nej..."
"Why?" She asked but started to get up after he was off of her.
sniffes some more. "F-father wouldn't be happy about me getting hurt..."
frowns quietly. "I can take y' t' Mor, she could help y'.."
Søren
thinks 14 years ago
about that for a minute before nodding. He'd like that..
nods, she grabbed his sleeve to lead him there.
walked slowly, being mindful of his knees. He was trying not to cry anymore and just bit his lip.
carefully leads him, she didn't go too fast because of his knee.
appreciated it. He was trying to be strong.
wouldn't make fun of him if he cried. She just was amazed at how far she had wandered.
hoped he didn't get in trouble. He was wandering pretty far from his tribe.
had wandered extremely far from her tribe... Mor would probably be mad at her..
didn't like getting yelled at...
doesn't either... She saw her tribe finally, and started toward the people.
only now just starting to get nervous. He never even thought about being brought to another trive.
fairly sure that she will get in trouble for bringing an outsider into their small tribe. She brought him into the small village, and headed
Mor so she could help him.
stayed close to her, almost scared to look at anyone tall. He whimpered quietly, not liking being hurt and in unfamiliar territory. She
could be an enemy for all he knew!
a kid, she wasn't exactly a trained fighter yet. She walked into her hut, still pulling him with her. "Mor..?" They were greeted by a tall
woman with long blond hair.
whimpers and holds onto Astrid more, staring up at the tall women. His eyes started to water again, on the verge of crying.
didn't move him or push him away. "Mor, he hurt himself... could y' help 'im..?" Svea looked the boy over and nodded. "Come here."
shakes his head and hides behind Astrid.
looks at him. "Mor 's nice, don' be scared." Svea sighed quietly. "Y'er father wouldn' like y' hidin like that." She said quietly to him,
bending down to her knees, so she wouldn't be so big.
sniffles and looks over to her. "H-how do ye k-know about Father...?"
looks at Svea confused. Svea smiled a little. "'Ve known y'er father for a long time young one."
a little worried and skeptical... He just hid behind Astrid more.
tried to move out of the way. "Now now, young one Dane, don' be afraid." She said to him, holding out a hand.
slightly scared at how much she knew about him. "D-don't hurt me...!"
|Svea shook her head. "I won' hurt y'. I wouldn' want y'er father angry with me, be calm, ja?"
nods faintly. That seemed to convince him. He slowly stepped away from Astrid, shyly walking up to her.
|Svea smiled a little bit and stood up, she then picked him up and set him on a table. "Where did y' hurt y'erself?"
rubs his eyes a bit before pointing to his knees and shows her his palms.
|Svea looks over his palms and knees, nodding to him. "'lright." She got some light disinfectant and bandages, cleaning his wounds.
hisses a bit. "Ow!" He hated disinfectant.
|Svea frowned. "Sorry, lilla en." She said as she wrapped his wounds.
watched her, calming down after.
|Svea lightly kisses his palms, a very maternal thing to do. "Y'll be 'lright."
smiles faintly. "T-tak..."
|Svea smiled at him. "Valkommen." she kept him on the table. "Sverige, we need t take him home t'night." Astrid nodded to her quietly.
blinks at her before looking down. "Sverige...?"
blinks back and nods. "Ja..?" Svea shook her head. "Don' ask questions child." She warned him.
blinks at her but nods. He'd just keep quiet.
looked confused between the two of them... Did mor know something she didn't? Svea smiled a little. "Good Danmark."
blinks more at her. "How do ye know...?" Quiteness streak broken.
|Shakes her head. "Y'll know one day." She couldn't tell him if Holger hadn't yet.
pouts. "Tell me!" He flailed a bit.
|Shakes her head again. "Y'er father will tell y' soon 'nough who I am." She picked him up. "Come, Sverige."
makes a small sound and looks down at Astrid. "Sverige..." He said quietly.
looks up at him, confusion in her eyes. "Ja?"
just looked down at her. He was confused...
doesn't understand, so she was confused. Svea started to walk out, Astrid closely followed her.
leaned into Mor Svea... she was warm.
|Svea didn't mind that he leaned into her. She just kept walking, she knew Astrid could keep up with her, as long as she carried her home.
wasn't as nervous as before, but still worried...
|Svea kept him close ad they walked, Astrid kept close and held onto the skirt of her long dress. Svea walked for a long while knowing
exactly where the little Dane's village was. She walked into the village without any fear when she arrived, even with the other people
started to watch her and look suspicious about her carrying the child.
nervous, but felt a bit happier to be back in his village. He was started to get scared though, wondering what Father Holger would say or
do. Holger was working on sharpening his sword, beside a fire.
clung a little closer to Svea, she was scared. Svea walked right over to Holger. "Y' should keep 'n eye on y'er son." She said to him.
Father Holger looked at her before putting his sword down and standing. He narrowed his eyes at the kid, which made him whimper. He didn't
dare hide from him though... even though he wanted to. "How did ye come to finding him?"
|Svea heard the whimper, and saw the glare. "Be nice Holger, he's still a child." She stated quietly. "Sverige found 'im 'nd brought 'im t'
me." She looked to Astrid who didn't peak out from behind Svea.
Holger nods and takes his child, putting him down by his side. He could tell that Svea had treated him for some wounds. "Tak, for bringing
Svea nodded to him. "Valkommen, Holger." She looked down at the boy. "Will y' take better care 'f 'im now, Holger?" Astrid slowly peaked out
Holger nods. "Ja. He won't leave my sight." He looked down at him. "Will ye, Danmark?" Søren whimpered but nodded.
Svea nods to him. "Good. I'd hate t have t' take 'im off Y'er hands, Holger." She threatened, Astrid looked up at Holger queitly.
Holger growled quietly. "He will always be with me, Svea. Now go back to yer tribe."
made a small sound of fear at his growl. Svea sighed. "Then take better care 'f 'im." She picked up Astrid and rested her on her hip.
nods. "Don't tell me what to do." He glared down at the child. Søren lowered his head, ashamed.
Svea gave him a look. "Holger, y' don threaten me." Astrid looked down at Soren quietly.
Holger gave her a look right back. "And ye don't tell me how to raise my child."
Svea shifted Astrid slightly and set her down. "If y' were responsible, I wouldn't have t'." she crosses her arms under her chest.
Holger steps closer. "I am responsible. He is just a stupid child. Now leave my village before I take ye out myself."
Svea shook her head. "Y' know what's goin t' become 'f him. We won be 'round forever. Y' should train 'Nd raise 'im better than y' are."
Holger growls a bit again. "He'll never be anything like I expect. I'd do better training someone else, and make them hand down that
information year after year to his younger. This child... this thing, will never be a leader."
Svea glared a bit. "Y' can't control what the Gods have set. Y' need t' suck it up 'Nd raise im right. Y'er gettin older, we both are."
Holger looks away, crossing his arms. "He'll never be the child I want. I wonder why the Gods gave him to me. He's useless." Søren just
looked down more, wanting to cry but know he would get hurt if he did.
Svea glared at him. "Then train the child. He's still young. Sverige does things other children can't b'cause I trained her. Y train Danmark
He will be n asset t Y'er village 'Nd as Y'er son." She glared. Astrid frowned and looked at Soren quietly.
Holger just glares. "Leave. Get out of my village. Now." He didn't want to talk to her anymore
Svea shook her head. "Y'll learn the hard way." She sighed and picked Astrid up again. "Say good bye to Danmark." She said to her. Astrid
held onto her mother's clothes. "Hej da."
too scared to look up, but he got a warning growl from Father Holger, so he looked up. "F-farvel..."
Svea turned and started to walk away. "Y' should take m' advice, Holger."
Holger watches her leave before going back to working on his sword. He didn't bother looking at the child. He was annoyed with him.
Svea walked away with Astrid, she didn't think what Holger was doing was right.
Holger was just annoyed. The child was an idiot in his mind. He was going to make him sleep outside tonight.
Svea was planning to take the child, she didn't find this right, it was too cold even for them.
Holger wouldn't let her. The child was his, even if he didn't want him. He had to learn to brave the elements.
Svea didn't think that he should do that, at least until he was older, no other child was treated like that.
Holger knows these aren't ordinary children. They couldn't die easily, and figure they should learn to become use to the environment.
Svea knows that too, but they were still children after all.
Holger didn't care. His child had to face hard times, so he may as well learn now.
Svea thinks that he should use a different method, lest the child regret him and cut Holger's life short when he grew.
Holger wouldn't let that happen. The child would learn and understand soon enough.
