I have been having similar issues as well. People have followed me back, but the status continues to show "needs to confirm".

I was wondering about it too. Also, I just learned that invitations I sent a few days ago were received until today.

I just got a notice that one of my invites was accepted, but it still says that I haven't invited anyone yet.

What's up with that?
