Well, now I'm back from Selby.
latest #18
Went up on the friday and I've pretty much just walked through the door.
I went mostly to see mum and dad, but also to see the town and to get a feel of the place.
That and I missed the cat like buggery.
I cant tell you how nice it is just to do the most pedestrian things with mum and dad; hell even chatting about the weather is nice
or to see them argue and bicker in their comforting way.
I wish that in my bratty teens I had felt such contentment with them, hell, I wish I had learned the value of their presence.
When I lived in cambridge all that time I almost forgot about them and then when I was forced back I railed against the regression I felt.
Only now do I feel the need for their presence and really value their experience.
That and I now feel like I'm not just a son to them, but also more of a friend. Dad has opened up a lot and our unconcious competion
dulled. They both are so happy now, no more stress and no more worry - if you cut them in half they'd have yorkshire written in the middle.
I'm happy that they are home. I sure resented the move at first, but now I'm glad.
I'm glad someone, other than me, thinks so.
That's nice
... Selby. That is near me. NEXT TIME YOU COME VISIT ME, TOO.
Yaaaaaaay
