I've been rereading Animorphs! It's such a blast from the past, haha, very nostalgic.
I've been having a bash at redwall angain and I'm full of smiles as bagers bop stoates with axes and mice gut rats.
I never read animorphs; what was it about?
I'm surprised you say that! :0
Alien species, Yeerks. They are slugs that enter your brain and take control of your body. It is bad news.
Alien species, Andalites! Oppose them! Sort of look centaurs with scorpian tails and no mouths. They can shape shift!
An Andalite ship crashes on earth, uses his dying moments to pass knowledge of teh secret invasion on to five passing teenagers.
Also gives them morphing powers. (This is childrens lit, give it a break)
Series proceeds to be grim as hell.
It's definitely written for youngsters, but it has that sort of Animals of Farthing Wood level of 'oh geez, this just isn't going at all
When those books were popular I was about.... seven or so I think. I wasnt really able to read much before that and I was pretty stuck into
my reading rutt at that point.
It may suprise you to learn that even to this day I'm not a big sci-fi buff other than the popcorn crap that everyone is familiar with.
In fact the idea of aliens scared the crap out of me until I was eleven or so.
Someone sent me e-books of the whole series, so I've just been reading again. I think it's a real solid series, personally.
I stopped reading them when I started finishing the books within, like, an hour of buying them? I convinced myself I was wasting money if I
I may have to give it a go then.
finishing with them that fast. Looking back, I regret making that choice :s
Ha, Anna had a simialr problem when she was reading the Cjristopher Pike books as a young teen.
I sort of outgrew the reading age, but the story remains solid. Like I say, definitely written to a child's eye, but solid stuff.
She'd pick them up and finish them all to soo.
Would you like me to upload the bunch for you? There's a whole lot of books here, but they're really light reading so don't be intimidated.
54 books and a bunch of tie-in's to read at set points, hahaha, but they take all of an hour.
Thats not a series thats an epidemic!
Haha, yeah! I didn't realise there were so many, hahaha, think I stopped somewhere in the twenties.
A YEERK EPIDEMIC HUR HUR HURRRR
I think Anna has a copy of the first one - I'll pinch that off her first and see how it goes - thanks though.
Just don't read it and be like 'THIS ISN'T A MASTERPIECE OF LITERATURE AT ALL, WHAT IS JESSIE THINKING', hahahah.
Oh come now, I've never thought anything you've ever recomended to me has been such.
Oh, fine, thrones was good.
Ha, mark gave up in the end - all the horribleness got to much for him.
He only got to the third book - the big girl.
Hahaha, well, at least he got past Lady. Some people call it quits right there.
God, that seems so tame after all thats happened.
Except one of those is for real and the other so isn't.
Maybe although I'd honestly be a bit disapointed.
Pretty sure he's gonna worg into Ghost, Ghost!Jon will get Melisandre, she's gonna Red Priest that boy back on his feet.
Or Red R'hllor him, rather, I suppose.
it just me being immature or does that sound dirty/
