There are people who swing strongly one way or the other, but some people are more fluid

A non-scene example: someone who's usually pretty laid back, but is willing to take charge in a group if no one else wants to play leader

and both dominant and submissive role can fulfill different needs in an individual

The most submissive a relationship can get and still hold my interest is if the submissive partner is in the role of say, an advisor

like a loyal servant or attendant who still cares for the dominant partners needs, and gives subtle advice when needed

The dominant partner is still in charge, but the submissive partner still plays an active role in the dom's life

...which I guess is a reversal of the usual dynamic, where it's the dom who takes care of the ub
