sent him some candies in the mail. He would have dropped them off, but he was just to busy to bother with that.
felt more pleased with who sent the package than the contents, though he happily returned the gesture by mailing Tino a sweater. It may_
not have been as tasty as candy, but it was winter now, and he didn't want Tino getting sick.
wasn't going to get sick and he didn't really want to wear the sweater... he was maybe brooding a bit. He set it aside and went about
doesn't realize there was anything for him to brood over, and thus assumes that nothing is wrong between them.
isn't about to say anything about it either. He was debating visiting, but he doesn't think he should.
would enjoy a visit. He had made a cake that afternoon that he'd love to share with Tino.
didn't want to visit him... more on the reason of he didn't have the time.
may have to visit Tino then, if Tino wouldn't come to his house.
wouldn't mind him visiting, he doesn't visit enough.
brought his wood inside and went to shower, sending a text to Tino asking if he would mind a visit before cleaning up.
blinked a bit when his phone went off, he was in the middle of cleaning his bedroom when he got it. He sighed a bit and sent a reply,
smiled to himself when he saw that, and quickly got dressed in warm clothes. He packed up the cake in a box and quickly made his way out_
to Tino's, hoping the weather wasn't too bad.
thought the weather was pretty good out. He kept working on cleaning, blasting some music as he worked.
took his time while driving to be safe. He stopped off at a grocery store to pick up some groceries for Tino, he wanted to make sure he_
had plenty of groceries... sort of. He continued to clean and eventually forgot Berwald was coming over.
parked quietly and made his way to the door, balancing the bags and cake in one arm as he stared at it. He wondered how loudly he should_
knock, or if he should walk straight in like Denmark usually did. They had known one another for a long time, but he didn't want to seem_
rude towards Tino... But what if he knocked too quietly and Tino never heard it? Or if he knocked too loudly and it pissed Tino off? He_
was trying to avoid setting Tino off, but as he continued to introspect and muse the bags were growing awkward and uncomfortable.
wouldn't mind him just walking in. He was used to people doing that, Denmark wasn't the only one... though no one ever really visited him.
hesitated before knocking, trying to keep it as moderate as possible. He shifted his weight to hold the bags in his other arm.
didn't hear the knocking over the music, when the song changed though he heard a bit of it and stopped pausing. "Hmm..." he went to answer
the door blinking up at Sweden a bit confused.
nearly let out a sigh of relief when Tino finally answered the door. He had begun to think that he was dead, ill, not home, or abducted by_
aliens or Russia. He preferred the Aliens to Russia, personally... "Hej..."
took a moment to remember the text. He smiled at that and stepped back, "come in." He looked at the bags and frowned.
almost smiled in response as he stepped in, debating whether or not he should slip out of his shoes. "Brought y' s'me food..."
sighed at that, he grabbed some of the bags from him. "You can take the food home with you, I have plenty of food. Like bagged toast. "
shook his head. "Brought it for y'." It was his way of being sweet and romantic... like roses... only more practical...
huffed a bit at that and took it into the kitchen, reluctantly putting it away. "Thanks Berwald."
followed after him, taking the cake out and settling it on a counter. "Vars'god."
looked over at him and stared at the cake. He realized he had the music on still and ran to turn it off.
hadn't been bothered by the music, but stared at the cake, playing with the edge of it's box as he waited for Tino to return.
came back after changing out of the t-shirt and track pants he'd been in before to a pair of jeans and a button down shirt. "The cake looks
hadn't minded the tshirt and track pants; he was happy enough to see Tino. "Th'nks." He stood up straight, debating whether or not he should
watched him for a second before he got two plates down and some forks. "Would you like something to drink?"
nodded and pulled the cake from the box to cut it for them.
got out two beers and opened them, handing one to Berwald.
had thought he meant something like milk, or cocoa... but he took the beer. "Tack." He set it on the counter and served up the cake, holding
out one of the plates towards Tino.
took the plate with a thanks. He felt the need to have a beer...
wouldn't tell him not to have a beer, and sipped on his slowly. He watched Tino, waiting for him to take the first bite.
took a long sip of his beer before he went to the living and took a seat. Taking a bite of the cake he hummed happily. "It's good."
followed after him quietly. "'M glad."
nods as he watched him for a second. "So to what pleasure do I owe the visit?"
froze. He hadn't had a reason. Was he supposed to have one? "Eh..." He trailed off, mumbling under his breath as he stiffly sat down.
blinked before he laughed and shook his head. "You don't need a reason, I like seeing you."
relaxed at that, and set his beer on the table while he nibbled at the cake. "Me too."
continued munching on the cake, taking a sip of beer every now and then. He mumbled something under his breath.
"Hm?" He looked up from his cake at Tino, wondering if he'd heard something.
shook his head quickly, "nothing."
frowned and took a sip of the beer. "Ah..." He didn't want to push him to talk if he wasn't comfortable with it.
said something he knew he shouldn't have said... he smiled at him as he took another bite. "So you made the cake?"
nodded as he unintentionally finished the beer, drinking more out of anxiety than actual thirst. "Ja."
watched him quietly as he kept drinking his own beer. He had to wonder why he bothered visiting if he got this worked up about it.
wanted to see him... he was just shy, and a bit self conscious about everything.
just thought he had nothing to be shy about..
didn't want to upset Tino, or say anything stupid...
wouldn't be upset about anything he said. He wanted him to say more.
didn't really know what to say...
sighed and continued to nibble on the cake now.
set down his empty beer can and took a small bite of his cake. He looked around the room, trying not to look too much at Tino.
got up when he finished his own can, he moved and went to get more drinks.
followed after him, trailing like a large, awkward puppy.
hardly even noticed. He handed him another drink.
took it, though he debated whether or not he should have another drink. He rationalized that one more couldn't hurt.
opened his own and took a long sip of it, not saying anything as he drank it. If Berwald wanted to be quiet then he would be equally as
shifted uncomfortably as he drank it. "Eh..."
glanced at him as he leaned against the counter. "Are you going to talk now?"
shrugged, taking a quick drink of the beer to wash down the taste of his discomfort.
sighed and continued to drink his beer falling back into silence now. "We shouldn't date."
gulped quietly and stared at Tino, determined not to let on that it had upset him. "Eh?" That was rather sudden... he had even brought him_
watched him quietly with that, "we're not... we're not much of a couple Berwald." He shrugged a bit at that.
frowned. "Ah..." He wasn't really sure what he should say to argue that point. He had, obviously, felt differently, but he didn't_
understand where that had come from.
had just been thinking about it a lot lately, though he really really didn't want it to be the case. He frowned when he didn't say anything.
"Glad to know you agree." He pushed away from the counter and headed for his living room again. Hana ran up to him wanting to go out side.
didn't know if he should say that he didn't agree, or simply accept it and leave. He didn't want to leave, but at the same time he didn't_
want to force Tino in to doing anything against his will. "I... eh... S'rry..."
stopped and looked over at him. "I don't want you to apologize Berwald. I want you to... I want you to tell me that's not true and that you
want it as much as do, because I honestly... I don't know."
"Ah..." He mumbled quietly, staring at the ground sheepishly. He had assumed that all of those things went without saying. "I... uh..." It_
wasn't that he didn't feel that way, it was hard to get the words out, however. They felt so forced and awkward.
sighed at that as he shook his head, rubbing the back of his head lightly. He turned away from him for a moment setting his drink down.
"I..." He gulped. For some reason this felt more difficult than walking on a broken bone before crutches and casts had been invented. He_
sighed and cringed inwardly as he took a large drink from the beer, as though it would give him a bit more courage or lack of fear. It did_
neither, and he accidentally breathed a bit of it in down the wrong way, causing him to sputter and choke like even more of an idiot.
frowned at that, he had not expected that reaction. "Never mind, thanks for the food... and for visiting, you should take it back though."
He turned his attention to Hana now as the dog nipped at his pant leg hem to get his attention. She clearly needed to pee.
tried to stop himself from coughing, his face turning bright red with a mixture of embarrassment and breathing in beer. Oddly enough the_
beer was not as easy to breath as air, nor was it as painless and his chest burned slightly as he scowled at Tino, more from the feeling_
of inhaling a liquid than the conversation. He shook his head as he sniffled slightly, his scowl turning to a glower as he reached up to_
rub his fingers under his glasses, wiping his eyes that had begun to water from the coughing. "S'rry..." He grumbled slowly. "Y' c'n keep_
hesitated as he looked back up at him, he... he hadn't meant to be so harsh. He didn't like the look Berwald had on either. "No..." he
picked up Hana before she could tear his jeans and moved over to him, "don't apologize... I'm... sorry." He looked to the dog then back up
to Berwald. "I've got to take her for a walk... fresh air might be good for us, if you want to join me... if you don't just say so instead
of reacting like that again."
nodded mutely, unsure of what else could be said. He didn't think he had reacted a certain way out of the ordinary... A walk would be nice,_
however, and it might help to silence the pounding of his heart in his ears.
was glad he agreed to come. He went to the door and grabbed the dog's leash, setting her down again he clipped it on her collar before
putting his coat on along with his boots, he waited for Berwald patiently.
followed after him, pulling his scarf on closer and buttoning up his jacket. He looked at Hana rather than meeting Tino's eyes.
opened the door and stepped outside, letting Hana go ahead of him as he held her leash.
followed after them, glancing around the yard as he shoved his hands in to his pocket to keep them from getting cold.
looked over at him, he'd forgotten his own mitts, but didn't bother with trying to keep his hands warm. "I'm sorry..."
shook his head, though he still didn't look up. He noticed Tino's bare hands and frowned, pulling out his gloves and holding them out_
towards him. He could keep his hands warm in his pockets well enough.
frowned when he was offered the gloves, he shook his head. "I'm fine. You know what annoys me most some times? It's when you don't say
anything. I would rather you say something than nothing. You can't say the wrong thing if that's what you're worried about."
frowned. "Y' should wear these."
shakes his head again. "I'm fine."
scowled in response. He was trying to be nice, and help Tino... and that was all he was going to get? Brushed off? He huffed and shoved the_
gloves back in to his pockets in frustration.
frowned at that he stopped and stared at him. "Thanks for the offer Berwald, but I'm really fine." He corrected himself before he started
pouted stubbornly. It was rather frustrating to constantly have Tino deny his attempts at being helpful or showing his feelings.
sighed lightly as he put Hana's leash in his other hand and reached out grabbing the back of Berwald's jacket.
glanced down at him with a frown. "Hm?"
looked away for a moment as he held on, "you're mad now aren't you?"
nodded, "you are, you're mad." He watched him a bit longer. "Your gloves would be to bug for me that's all."
shrugged, glaring at the trees as they walked.
stared at him and frowned darkly. "Stop glaring, you're not attractive like that. See this is why... you always get all brooding and
everything and then you wont talk to me so I don't know how to fix it and then you'll go home and we wont talk to each other for a while and
when we do again it will be awkward and wont solve anything and then we'll go through it all over again."
"Eh." He shrugged again. He supposed that there may have been truth in what he'd said, though that didn't improve his mood any. If anything_
it made it worse! It wasn't as though he purposely got upset over Tino's stubbornness and refusal to accept help.
just got more annoyed when he got like that. He stopped then making Hana turn to look at him in question. "Fine... You know... I think Ivan
did far more for me than you ever did."
had felt his temper growing as it had been, but hearing that Tino thought Ivan was better than him made his cheeks tinge with the_
beginnings of a foul rage. His fists clenched in his pockets as he glanced at Tino with his eyes narrowed. "Iv'n?" He nearly laughed with_
anger at the insult. He had no idea how else to respond to it! Everything he had done was to try and help Tino, and he had thought that_
recently he had been doing much better about showing his concern or worry, and this was what he got in return?! "Maybe y' should date Iv'n_
then!" He spat out. Obviously he hadn't meant the words. The last thing he wanted was for Tino to have any sort of romantic interest in_
the Russian. But at that moment he was more focused on his own anger to bother with being 'polite' or 'nice'. "'M sure he'd treat y' w'th_
th' same kindness the others got."
stared at him, mostly out of shock at first but as the other went on his shock just turned more to anger and he folded his arms over his
chest pulling Hana closer by her lead. "Maybe I should! I already know exactly what kind of kindness he shows I was living with him for
quite a while and you know he actually helped me more than anything. Without him I would never have been free of you." He glared at him now,
not that he was aiming to hurt Sweden, though at the moment... "At least Ivan talks and when he knows what he wants he gets it."
took in a sharp breath. It would have been a lie to say that the words didn't sting; it brought up old wounds that he had thought they had_
gotten past, but apparently Tino refused to move past the past and would use it against him at any time he so desired. His heart raced_
unsteadily as his teeth clenched together tightly, his jaw locking. "Fine." He huffed, storming towards his car. There were better places_
for him to be, and people that would actually APPRECIATE or understand him; both of which the Finn was quite obviously incapable of doing.
watched him, he glared after him as Hana gave a loud bark. He shook his head, "yeah that's right go sulk, don't bother speaking to me again
either. I don't want to be around someone who's infantile and annoying."
would have said, 'I won't.' But he was too stubborn to say anything to him. He would avoid Finland like the plague, and let him see just how
"silent" he really could be.
didn't care if he did or not. He figured Sweden could be the one to tell Sealand, because he wasn't to speak with the kid anymore either.
figured that he would be that childish, he had no problem dealing with Peter on his own; he was rarely home anyway.
wasn't being childish, Peter just wasn't his responsibility, he was Berwald's.
doesn't think Tino understands the definition of 'responsibility', so he wouldn't expect him to consider anything his responsibility,_
knows how to take plenty of responsibility, he'd had enough to break away from Russia after all and he was doing perfectly fine on his own.
doesn't think breaking away from another country involved any 'responsibility'.
thinks it did, he dared Sweden to continue on that train of though, he still had his favourite gun.
isn't worried about whatever guns Tino had, He had things much better than old guns to keep him safe and warm at night.
doesn't think he can keep himself safe from him.
doubts that Tino could do any physical damage that would be worse than the emotional strife he has caused.
would gladly do some physical damage to him.
doesn't doubt that. Finland always had been more of a barbarian than the other, more civilized nations.
is hardly a barbarian, unlike Berwald he's had to learn how to be tough and deal with far more than Berwald ever had to deal with.
thinks that Tino doesn't know half of what Berwald had been forced to deal with, and he was more than happy to keep him oblivious.
never shared what he'd been through with Russia and he wasn't about to share either.
didn't care what Finland had been through with Russia, and he couldn't care less what he wanted.
was glad then. He took Hana and continued on their walk, he didn't want to go back to his house now.
would be happy to return home to Sweden. He might even go out to the bar and try to make some new friends.
didn't care what he did, he planned on going to visit one of his human friends. A very close human friend.
hopes he has fun with his little human friends; they would die soon anyway.
likes his human friends, he liked knowing they would die, hanging out with them let him think for that time that he would die to.
thinks that if he is so eager to die all he had to do was hand his country over to someone else.
wasn't about to that, his people would not be thankful for it.
will go out and be social and talk a lot with people just to spite Tino... once he finished sulking.
really didn't care anymore. He focused on Hana as they walked, he no longer had any idea where they were much less where they were going.
sat in his car for at least two minutes, angrily gripping the steering wheel before leaving. He wouldn't give Tino the satisfaction of being
there when he returned, and doubted the other had wanted him there to begin with. He really shouldn't have bothered wasting his time or_
emotions on someone like him.
had to wonder why he ever bothered at all if he was just going to act like a dotting older brother all the time. He actually realized he
couldn't think of Berwald as anything more than that. Just an older brother that he now hated.
acted that way because it was how he showed affection, though he had been foolish to think that Tino would understand any of that.
had understood, but it had also made him afraid to show any kind of affection. He didn't want to do something only to have him reject it,
though now he didn't think that mattered.
now thought that Tino had the emotional capacity of Russia, perhaps even worse. He felt insulted and rejected, and wanted nothing more than_
to forget him once and for all. He'd wasted far too many centuries on him.
wondered how the hell he could think that, considering that it was Berwald who had beaten him, taken him and forced him into submissions and
kept him locked away for so many years and yet despite all that he had still gone back to Berwald and practically asked him out. If that was
him not having any emotional capacity than he was better off without Berwald.
thought that they had already gotten over the past, but that was clearly not the case. He had tried to be better, but nothing would ever_
be good enough for the Finn, and he was tired of feeling insufficient simply because he didn't talk enough.
was over the past, if he wasn't he never would have even considered going near the Swede, though now he understood why Denmark disliked him
would rather spend another hundred years with Denmark than spend ten minutes with Tino.
thinks he should go do that then. He always thought the two were secretly sweet on each other.
wishes he had been! The Dane may have been a pain in the ass, but at least he wasn't an insensitive child.
would gladly change history so he could have been.
