Just touch something metal before you touch the sticks to discharge any static electricity. I think that's all they mean.

Yeah, pretty much that's what I'm reading for suggestions.

Another thing I keep seeing is to keep the pc plugged in but the power button on the back turned off.

If the power button is off the case is grounded, basically you want to make sure any metal has a path to the ground. If you touch a metal

object that's resting on a pile of paper you haven't grounded yourself, you just randomly touched a metal object.

The easiest way to ground yourself is to touch the back of your case by the power supply, it's quick, easy, and you won't build up a charge

shuffling across the room after touching something else. Strangely, finding metal that you can actually ground yourself on properly isn't

easy in many homes since most items are coated - bare metal works best.

I also have a new cable to connect to large hd I had installed but the cable had damaged due to being flat on both ends.

So it's a replacement & angled right for where to connect.

Just have to wake up from the antistamine stupor before I attempt all this.
