I downgraded our tv service. didn't cancel it outright, but saved $35 a month.... it's a start.

I'm surprised, sometimes when you threaten downgrading, they give you a discount

I really don't miss cable, at all. Well, except for live sports, but I can get that from the internet - for FREE!

I called to outright cancel, saying I didn't think they could get me anything for around $30/mo. the total bill should be about $41/mo.

taxes included. still have DVR and local channels. so I consider it a win.

Wow. Even when Paul was fresh out of school & we were dirt poor living in the highly expensive NE, we had DirecTV

Kudos to you for downgrading.

as long as we have something I'm fine. Hulu, netflix. something. the kid needs some cartoons. I will need something when the noob arrives.

I like to keep the cable because of the DVR. I don't do movies. too long for me to concentrate! lol.
