And sorry that sounds sarcastic. My wife loves hers and it does what she needs. Obviously there are some things she wishes it had (camera)

Yea, for $300 bucks I can use the camera on my phone. I still have a Kindle 2, but might upgrade with the next generation of the fire.

Even as an iPad2 owner myself I've been very impressed with her Fire. It loads most apps faster, browses the internet just as fast, etc.

Plus it is probably more user friendly for an average tech knowledge user (such as my wife) than the iPad. It functions a lot like a flash
