has anyone here purchased curtains/sheers before? I am looking at some for our guest bedroom and Penney's recommendation is 3x the width.
latest #18

on a 120" wide set of windows, that's a lot of fabric.
Was wondering if maybe 2x the width would be plenty?

hmm I'd get the 3 panels just because you want them to not be FLAT against the window
Sairy

like completely stretched out

two places to check: the clearance bin at Penny's (we got our sheers for our old apartment there for oh $40) and Ikea

there isn't an Ikea very close to us (2 hr drive) but I do plan to hit up Penneys to see what I can find.

our guest bedroom basically has one wall facing the street that is almost solid window floor to ceiling so we're trying to make it a little

more private since the tree that used to be in front of it came down last month.

ah okay. Yes, definitely try Pennys - my MIL gets ALL of her curtains there and all on sale

maybe Kohl's would have something, do they sell curtains there?

You know I dunno. I'd have to go look.
I know my parents always bought their curtains at penney's. And Penney's is now doing everyday

low prices, so maybe we'll score big. if we do 360" of width though I'd need 8 panels...that just seems like so many!
Sairy

well you canalways try it with 2x and then add another panel if you need?
Sairy

these
are 50" wide
Sairy

so that's 7 panels for 350"
Sairy

for $126 but they may have cheaper ones
LittleWit

yeah that's not so bad. The ones I was looking at were running about $175 for 7 panels. I need to get out to the stores and look at them

I use to be a drapery seamstress before I was a nurse. We did at least 2x but the fuller the better. so 3x is good
