I think you hit the nail on the head. There is no good business reason to give LL my content. There may be valid emotional reasons to do so

It all depends on how much a person needs/wants the visibility of having their work on a high visibility blog. I am lucky to have had that

for two years when I wrote for NWN. I actually do not enjoy that kind of attention so the "reward" of writing for LL is meaningless to me

For others it might be highly valued and sought after. For me? Been there, done that, don't wanna go back.
