Calc can be replaced by Gnumeric, Writer by AbiWord, but there's still no programme on desktop Linux other than Impress that edits .ppt/x.

just installed QMMP and got rid of Banshee

QMMP's Audio CD plug-in stopped working today and was blocking APE/FLAC/WV playback. Had to disable it.
