this a distress signal? Are you ok?? Why on earth would you have to eat liver?! Ever???
The only liver I would ever eat is braunschweiger. Liverwurst is ok, too.
no thank you .good luck with that.
Can you do that?! You can fry it with some onions and make a sandwich.
my iron is low enough where I could risk out of home birth so I have been on a regimen in order to get it raised. the test is Thursday so
this is the last push to get it up in time. although I will still continue with the pills and greens and liquid iron and molasses I'm taking
You can't just take iron pills? Isn't spinach really high in iron?

The things we go through! I vote liverwurst! Easiest to mask I think!
I thought steak was high in iron, too?!
taking a liquid iron supplement and greens wasn't doing it. I've always been anemic. apparently it's a family thing. my sis had this problem
too. I've been eating lots of greens, taking 2 spoonfuls of blackstrap molasses, 2 different types of iron pills... eating steak. I'm
cramming for my final exam! lol.
I didn't know about artichokes although that is so much work for such a little meat, unless canning doesn't kill the vitamins
so no personal fave recipes??? no one likes liver?? cringing
No, I can't even stand the smell of it. Maybe soaking in milk will help?
I wish... calcium hinders iron absorption. so can't do that...
I'm with Karen. I find it repellant.
I'm hoping this is all in my head about how gross it is. I haven't ate it since I was forced to as a kid. it grosses me out that it's even
hold your nose Brianna
(I say that to George when he takes medicine)
I'm thinking I need to watch silence of the lambs while eating it. with a nice chianti.
I would have a really hard time with that.... Spinach on the other hand no problem, but it sounds like you tried that route already.
I wouldn't eat liver if you covered it with chocolate sauce! I don't know any way to make it better
That second link says spinach interferes with iron absorbtion...
but then it lists spinach as a high iron food...
"*Pregnant women should not eat liver because of the high Vitamin A content which can harm the baby."
lol. that makes sense. I've been doing kale and turnip or collard greens.
I would try Raisin Bran, pistachios and watermelon>!>!>
but but but everything else I've read says do it!!
lots of steak has been consumed in the past two weeks!
oh darn!
I don't know. I would personally use that as an excuse not to , I just did a google search - who knows how correct it is.
it looks like there are lots of food (cereals especially) that you could eat instead -
I would err on the side of caution (and my tastebuds) and skip the liver.
hmmmmm..... it is a good excuse, but if I fail on Thursday, I'm delivering at a cut happy hospital. If we had decent hospitals around here,
I wouldn't be as freaked, but even the most natural friendly has something around a 35% csec rate.
I've been doing everything possible to increase it and the liver is that final boost.... I gotta keep reading...
The C isn't that bad. Way better than eating liver, anyway...
Wow. I am the lone plurker that loves liver! it has to be liver and onions. fried, breaded in flour with pepper and salt. mashed potatoes
and applesauce!
I could come cook it for you!
it isn't as bad as I dreaded, but the texture is killing me. it's a little worse than venison in taste.
I'd love to share it with you
kaytabug!!
