well, it's my sis-in-law. I don't think she does it on purpose, but I also think that not realizing things

is sometimes just as bad as doing them on purpose

just leads to her not being a very caring person

I am so sorry to hear that! That is very difficult. My hubby's dad and wife would slight us, until we had our boys.

Now, of course, all they want to do is see the boys. They could care less about us.

But that is intentional.

And the real bummer, for both of us, is that there is really nothing we can do about it.

slight means to basically mistreat someone by NOT doing something, if that makes sense

it's almost like purposely ignoring someone's feelings or what is right

not necessarily doing something rude, but the act of not doing is almost ruder
