how they would be compared to reading on the computer monitor - eye strain and such

heard that its easier on the eyes than a computer screen, but not tested it herself

it looks much nicer than the original model ... pity it's not available outside the US

I have a kindle first gen and love it. E-ink is much easier on the eyes. Kindles are really great for traveling.

it only supports its own format. To move your own files(.pdf, word...etc) to it requires you to pay amazon to convert it for you.

Aslo, since the kindle requires you to get all of your content through amazon, they should be giving away the player

not a grudge, I just think thay are doing it wrong. the Xbox360 is the same

The only thing you can do with the bigger xbox hard drives is fil them with stuff you buy from microsoft. The drives should be very cheap

if the kindle was $100-150 they would sell even more of them and then also sell a whole bunch more content

the lack of native .pdf support also seriously bugs me.

the first line of the user spec should have been supports .pdf

Now that I have said that, they are selling them as fast as they can make them so maybe they know something I don't..
