They probably misread the first amendment as protecting the state from the church, when the precise opposite was intended.

I like that.... I wanted to post here before commenting to get some better than I could do responses, but I was at work and cannot get

Noone is saying religious law should rule over secular law. We are saying that this is AMERICA where we are supposed to have religious
FREEDOM which is what this country was based on.

Freedom is F R E E D O M. Like letting everyone believe what they believe. Forcing everyone to

Where are you getting that Bonnie - noone is forcing anyone's religion on anyone - we are trying to protect our rights and not have
the government tell us we have to do something that is totally against our beliefs....
I think I am fighting a losing battle, but not sure if I should keep fighting or not
