hurrying out from the secluded alley and into the bustling streets.
makes a small sound as the other walked into him. He just blinked. He hadn't seen him far from a river before.
stumbled back a step at the impact, quickly hiding his bloody hand in his pocket as he looked up to see who he ran into.
smiles a bit. "Hej, Lukas." He was surprised, really.
swallows uncomfortably again before trying to reply. "..Hello." His voice came out slightly strangled, but he ignored it.
frowns and tilted his head. "Somethin' wrong?"
shakes his head. He didn't want to open his mouth if he could avoid it.
nods a bit and smiles. "What're ye doin' so far from the river? I thought ye spirits didn't leave 'em..."
shakes his head again before realising that didn't explain anything. He reluctantly speaks, quietly, "It get's borin' now a days since so_
little humans goes outside their cities anymore... As long as there's a water source close, 'm good.."
smiles more at that. "Really? Awesome! I know a great place, come!" He took his arm and started pulling him towards a park.
too focused on keeping down the sick feeling he got from the sudden movement to act on the resentment of being dragged.
eventually brought him to the park and looked around. "See? It's nice! And there's a bit of a lake here for ye even."
kept his mouth shut and expression unreadable as he simply nodded. He was relieved they'd stopped walking at least.
pokes him. "Ye're oddly quiet, even for ye."
swats his hand away. "'s nothin'. Let's just.. go sit."
nods and walked over to a bench near the water. Once he sat down he just watched the fish swim around in the lake.
followed him at a slightly slower pace and sat down beside him, hand still in his pocket.
wiggled a bit as he watched the fish more. "Have ye eaten today?"
glanced at the water. "..'s not your responsibility to feed me, y'know."
nods. "Ja, but I know ye like it~"
huffed quietly and stared out at the small lake. "...'m fine."
shrugs. "I'll get some for ye anyways later."
looked over to him with dull eyes. "D'you still steal it?"
nods. "How else would I get it?"
ran his fingers absently over the wooden seat. "I've seen humans use their coins."
hums and nods. "Ye need to have coins to pay for things. Or paper. But certain kind of paper."
frowns lightly. "But y'don't do that."
sighs. "I can't seem to get them. No one wants to give me a job."
looked out at the water again, letting his hand rest between them. "I don't see why. You're not the biggest idiot I've met."
smiles. "I know right? I'd be a great person to do somethin'. But I dunno. No one ever wants me. All through the years, nothin'."
just shrugs and watches the water. He didn't know much about this part of human society.
didn't either, really... that was about all he cared to know.
"So that's why y'have no home, then." He said quietly, watching the ducks float aboat.
nods as he looked to the sky. "Ja, pretty much. I can't even afford meat, I'd never be able to afford a house... Those things are huge."
hums flatly. "Then where d'you live?"
chuckles a bit. "Wherever I can." It sounded embarrassing, but was true. "Mostly alleys now. It use to be forests, but I don't wanna risk
runnin' into that... thing, again."
nods slightly and waits a few moments before speaking. "Y'don't look like y'live on the streets.. Or maybe it's better than imagined."
smiles at him. "Tak. I steal a lot though." And might have used other peoples houses to live in until police came to investigate...
shrugs. "Just an observation." He pauses. ".. 'n that 'thing' is called Slenderman."
looks to him. "How do ye know it's name...?"
looks down at his bare feet. ".. It wrote it down to me, somehow. 'n I got someone to translate."
nods a little. "Interestin'..." He looked back to the water, humming quietly to himself. He was almost as pale as the last time they met.
watches him and figures his changing colour of skin is caused by the illness. "Has it found you in the city?"
shakes his head. "I've not seen it since with ye. I guess that's why I'm doin' better now." At least he thought so.
"'s good..." He muttered before coughing into his hand.
raises his brow and glances over to him. "Ye gettin' sick?"
automatically rubs a hand over his mouth, just in case. "'m always sick, lately." He said plainly.
frowned a bit. "Do ye spirits normally get sick like that...?"
looks at the ducks again, staring at them in silence for a long while before murmuring his answer, "..Never."
frowns more at that. "So... this is rather serious, ain't it?"
shrugs lightly, expressionless and seemingly indifferent. "Might be."
nods slightly. He rubbed where the creature had touched his shoulder before getting a flash back and violently coughing into his hand.
glances over to him, a flicker of concern in his features that dissapeared within the fraction of a second. ".. I doubt it's less serious_
for you humans, either way." He muttered quietly, waiting for the man to stop coughing.
put his other arm around his stomach and continued to cough before actually throwing up some blood on the ground in front of them"F-fanden."
stared as the blood splattered, quick to pull his bare feet up on the bench. He had no idea what to do; there was no cure.
looked down at the mess before chuckling faintly and biting his wrist to nibble on. His eyes were half closed and he looked a bit tired.
crossed his legs on the bench as he forced his gaze away from the blood and onto the man. ".. What do y'people do when y'get sick?"
paled a bit more as he tried to think. "We... we go to other people... and they... they help us."
frowns faintly. "But I don't know other people.." Not human, at least.
nods a bit. "They're special people." He had no idea what they were called. He never had to go to one before.
figured as much since the man hadn't just gone up to one of the other park visitors. No cure. Not the Angel could help even.
nibbled more on his wrist as the cut he made on it grew bigger from the constant nomming.
looked him over warily. ".. Why d'you do that when you're in a bad shape?"
tries to think. "... It helps calm me." And in reality bring some life back to him, but too much of it and he'd get more sick.
watched expressionlessly as a single drop of blood slid down from his wrist. "It doesn't look healthy."
shrugs. "It helps get me by..." He licked the blood around his wrist before licking his lips. He felt a tiny bit better, but he still looked
looks back at the ducks. "At the moment, maybe, but not in the long run."
sighs and gets up, stepping in the blood. "I need food. Comin'?"
gets up after a few moments, shrugging. "Sure." At least he wasn't feeling so nauseous anymore.
smiles and nods as he headed to the butchers shop.
follows him and stops a small distance from the shop when he sees it. ".. Should I wait outside?"
nods and smiles at him. "I'll be back in a moment~" He disappeared inside and after a little while he returned, licking his lips as he held
might be relieved that he seemed in better shape than earlier. He was coughing lightly when the other returned and glanced at the bag._
shakes his head. "Doesn't matter. Here~" He smiled and handed him some salted meat.
took it almost carefully, staring at it.
pats his back and walked on, pulling one out himself.
looked up and followed him, holding the precious piece of food close.
raised his brow. "Ye seem like that's yer life."
shakes his head distractedly. "'s good.. 'n I haven't had it in a long while.."
smiles and nods as he ate. "Savour it then. Though, I can always get more."
frowns lightly as he tore of a small piece. "'n y'don't want anythin' in return... 's so unnatural."
looks at him. "What do ye mean...?"
nibbles on the meat, enjoying the salty taste. "I've already told y'people've only given' me things for somethin' in return."
nods a bit as he ate more of his meat, smiling a bit. "In a way, I have gotten somethin'."
ate as he thought about that. "... Dancin' lessons doesn't count."
chuckles and shakes his head. "Nej, somethin' more. Somethin' better."
glances over at him with dull eyes. "Then I don't know what you're referrin' to..."
smiles faintly as he looked down. "... I've gained a friend..." He said quietly.
blinks and slows down a bit in his steps, though still keeping up with him. ".. Oh. I..." He pauses, looking at him. "..You're welcome."
smiles widely and continued to eat faster. He was in a much better mood now~
watches him a little while longer before going back to eating in silence.
finished his meat a bit later. It never fully satisfied him though...
licks his lips absently for the lingering taste of salt on them as he pockets the last bit of meat.
smiled at him. "How do ye feel now...?"
assumes he means the illness. "Better ...At the moment.."
smiles more and nods. "Good... I was kind of worried for ye back then.
glances at him. ".. Why? Y'were the one coughin' blood, after all."
chuckles and nods. "Ja, but I feel better now~ I only got a bit of a fever."
nods slightly. He didn't know what 'fever' was but assumed it wasn't too big of a deal.
playing it off like that. He hummed a bit and looked around. "So, what do ye wanna do?"
shrugs lightly to that. He restrained himself from licking the salt stuck on his fingers off and just brushed it off on his pants.
hums. "We could people watch... Or play in the park~ Or... I dunno."
raises an eyebrow at him. "Y'play..?"
smiles and nods. "Ja. Why not? I just go on the swings... and watch people mostly. It's interestin'."
should probably stop being surprised by this man. "...I don't know."
hums and turns to look at him. "Ye suggest somethin' then~"
shakes his head after thinking about that for a little while. "No.. Your suggestion's as good as any."
smiles and grabs his arm then starts heading to the park.
"Y'know I can actually walk by myself.." he informed flatly.
nodded. "Ja, but I'm excited~!" He got to the park and let go of him, heading to the swings. A few kids watched him before running to their
halts a small distance from the swings, watching the children almost curiously.
got on the swing and smiled as he started to push himself. He liked these~
went to sit down silently by the swingset, crossing his legs as he looked around idly.
looked over to him. "Aren't ye gonna join me~?"
waves a hand lightly. "Soon" He looks at a small girl tilting her head as she stares at his bare feet.
smiles and continued to swing. He didn't care he was taking these from the kids. He never got to do this when he was younger.
ends up having some kind of mild staring contest with the child. He loses though as he coughs, and the child runs off happily.
frowned a little when he saw the other coughed, he shook it off though. "... Have ye ever been on a swingy before?""
gets up smoothly and brushes the dirt off his pants. He turns and looks at the second swing. "Yes.."
smiles. "Get on and swing then! Want me to push ye?
watches the seat warily before going to sit down on it, frowning slightly. "..I'm fine."
raises his brow. "Ye suuure?" He slowed down a bit, ready to get off and push him.
"Yes, yes." He positioned his feet on the ground and held on to the chains as he swung a bit.
rolls his eyes and hopped off, pushing him lightly to make him go faster.
huffs and glances at him over his shoulder, causing him to twist the direction a bit.
laughs and tries to correct that. "Come on, have fun!"
coughs again and looks ahead at his feet.
just kept pushing him, hoping this would take his mind off his sickness.
appreciated the effort... Though he seemed to just get worse. He started coughing more and failed at keeping his feet in the air.
frowns and slowed him down. "Hey... maybe ye should rest..."
wiped at his eyes with the heel of his hand, clutching onto one of the chains with the other. He was about to answer but his words were_
stopped by another fit of coughs.
frowns more and rubs his back. "Would food help...? Water? Anythin'?"
manages to keep the coughing down for a few moments, making a weak attempt at shrugging the hand off. "W..Water."
nods and quickly went to get him a bottle of water, returning not long after.
sat bent over on the swing by the time the other got back, coughing violently.
frowns more and helped him off the swing and to a bench. "Here..." He was worried for the others well being, and that was making him start
to feel his own symptoms again.
took a deep breath as he undid the top of the bottle with lightly shaking fingers, drinking quickly of it after.
sat beside him and kept lightly rubbing his back. "Does it hurt for ye to couch...?"
((... Really. REALLY. Cough. ))
drank nearly half the bottle and sighed as his throat didn't burn quite as much. He nodded and coughed quietly, ignoring the hand on his_
slightly amazed at that. He didn't think that spirits felt pain like that...
bitterly figures Slenderman had overpowered that perk. He almost lost the bottle when another coughing fit shook him.
frowns and cursed when he saw people coming over to see if they needed help. "I think I can help ye, let's go..."
wiped clumsily at the small trail of blood running from the corner of his mouth, shaking still. "R-right."
slightly held his coat around the other, just so no one would instantly try to take him to the hospital. They left the park and continued
on a trail for a little while.
to exhausted to focus on much more than walking and breathing normally as he followed beside him, staring at the ground.
looked around before walking up a driveway and to a house. "Does the smell of a decomposin' corpse bother ye?"
rubbed his temple as he squinted up at the house. "...What..?"
sighs. "Do strong smells get to ye?"
coughs into his hand and shakes his head weakly. "I live in a forest.. 'm used to it.."
nods and pulled a key from his pocket before opening the house and walking inside. There was an obvious smell, but not terribly strong yet
didn't know what human homes were supposed to smell like either way. He blinked slowly as he looked around, keeping the coughs in.
started bringing him up the stairs to one of the bedrooms. He was surprised he wasn't nervous about what he was thinking of doing.
uncertain of how he would help at all, but right now he felt too terrible to question it. He trembled slightly from the constant_
coughing, feeling blood gathering in his throat at each one.
got him to the bedroom and sat him down. He then crouched in front of him and looked him in the eyes. "Listen. I think I can help. But...
promise not to judge me, ja...?" He sounded kind of hurt as he said the last bit.
stared blankly back at him, absently curling his toes as he thought about his words. He nodded faintly after a little while,_
"..If y'do help, then I won't." His voice sounded worn, and his lips were bloody.
licked his lips and nodded as he got up and took his jacket off before tossing it to a nearby chair. He then turned and helped the other lay
down. It would be easier to do this now instead of later. He couldn't help but lick his lips again, this time his fangs clearly visible. He
slowly turned the others head to the side, just so he had more room to work with.
watches him carefully, coughing into his hand. He frowned slightly as he was laid down, and more so when he noticed the mans unnaturally_
sharp pair of teeth. "Wha-" His question was cut off as he was overcome by abnormally harsh coughs and he clenched his eyes shut while_
trying to keep the blood in.
frowned at that and knew this needed to be done. He knelt over him and took one of the others hands and put it on his arm. "It might hurt
at first, so if it does, just hold onto my arm." He used his other hand to stead the others head before leaning down and finding his
jugular vein, then slowly sunk his teeth into it.
opened his eyes to look down to his hand on the mans arm once the fit had calmed down. He blinked slowly, shivering more as he felt the_
pointy edges on his skin - and screamed, gripping the arm until the fabric of the shirt tore. The blood in his mouth dripped easily onto_
the sheets while his body twitched defensively.
winced as he felt how hard the others grip was. He moved the hand that was on his head down to his cheek to help support him. For once he
felt bad on what he was doing, but he knew it was for the better.
's scream lessened to strangled, uneven gasps. His limbs trembled and the hand not gripping the others arm pushed feebly at his chest.
continued to drink the others blood, almost getting lost at how much he missed this. He moved a hand to the others chest, over his heart. He
didn't want to take it too far where he risked killing the other.
kicked helplessly as he paled white, his heartbeat racing rapidly.
wanted to pull away but didn't. He knew in the end this would help him. Even if it did hurt to see how much he was struggling against
him. At the same time though, he was enjoying this. He had missed the taste of fresh blood, and the fact that he wasn't human made it even
more appealing to him. He almost didn't want to stop/
could feel exhaustion starting to take over. He clawed weakly at the man as a last instinctive defense before dwindling to merely_
holding loosely onto the others shirt, shaking faintly.
felt the other weakend and forced himself to stop. He slowly pulled his fangs out, licking up the little bit of blood around his
lips before leaning back and looking him over.
breathed shallowly, yet quietly due to fatigue and let out a faint hiss when the fangs finally left him. His fingers lost their grip as the_
other pulled back and simply fell onto the matress. He slowly moved his half-lidded eyes to stare dully at him.
just looked away, feeling that his eyes were judging him. He pulled the blanket up around him, knowing he'd get pretty cold soon. He kept
idly licking his lips, savouring the taste of the others blood.
struggled to think straight as he focused on breathing near normally again. He tiredly slid his trembling hand out from under_
the covers and brushed his pale fingers clumsily over the others arm, dropping it after.
blushed faintly before moving off him and the bed. "Just rest... ye'll feel better when ye wake up..."
doesn't show any sign of having understood what he said. His eyes unfocused and his eyelids soon covered them. He was still shivering and_
twitching lightly at times while his body worked on calming down enough to lose consciousness.
watched over him during the night. He wasn't worried if he would live or not, he knew he would. He just wanted to be there in case the other
slept through the night without waking once, thought obviously disturbed while he did so. He had rolled onto his side_
and curled up by morning, still lacking the colour he had had before.
checked his temperature throughout the night, checking for fevers and treating them accordingly. When he saw the sun starting to rise he
sighed and got up, watching the other a bit before leaving. He didn't like how the other looked at him before...
rubbed a hand sleepily over his eyes as the sunlight eventually lit up the room. It took him a few moments of weary blinking before he_
remembered what had happened... He untangled himself from the blanket and sat up, shifting as to not sit on his_
reappeared tail. He realised that the ma- vampire - was no longer there. He held his hand hesitantly over the bit, not touching it,_
as he got up and found his way out of the house.
