My brother just called me out of the blue. My brother NEVER calls me except maybe 5 times in my adult life on my birthday

I wasn't suspicious until the end when he said he was going to call Mother also. Then my mind immediately went to - oh he is trying to get

on everyone's good side so we will spend the $1000 it is going to take to go to my nephew's wedding (he looked up the prices while we

talking for airfare and hotel) or at least ensure we send a nice gift.

Suspicion based on past experience? Definitely understandable!

I know how hard it is to think along different lines...

Sometimes,it's reasonable to be suspicious, as sad as it is

frequently suspicious of people who personally haven't given me cause to be, but overall experiences with groups have made me suspicious
