I dont agree with the guy from the plastic industry. Hassle nga siguro ang papel, pero in a larger perspective, mas hassle ang plastic.

The problem is our disposal industry. The way we clean up our waterways. Our trash segregation.

The plastic industry doesnt want the "reduce" part, since that would mean a decrease in the demand.

Thats the point, nobody live in that perspective because a few only understands that perspective. The stress it brings to our planet,

isnt visible enough unless its really too late.

We could all use the recycle part, especially the plastic industry since recycling plastic is easier than making it from scratch.

The reduce part is preferred to the total Ban. However since illegal logging is already rampant. Bans like this can make it worse.

These laws and bans aren't really thought out well through.

Also: what you buy in groceries are ALL covered in plastic anyway. You just carry them in an almost non-reusable paper bag.

also: fast food cardboard food containers are laminated with plastic anyway. I doubt those are any easier to degrade than regular plastics.

Well, we've got to start somewhere. Its a big problem and it cant be solved all at once.

That law is indeed stupid. Reusing part of the recycling process.

And those total bans are not the 'somewhere' to start. It's the result of people who are too damned lazy to look at the bigger pic.

With todays society, its to dependent on platics. I hope people in the industry would invest organic replacements.

The OXO Biodegrable Plastic (once being used by SM) doesnt degrade well according to studies.

It doesnt degrade in the manner that it was stated. May certain conditions parin and the promised 18monthe decomposition wasnt met.
