Ugh. That sounds like a huge hassle. Yeah, most places here don't have wallpaper, just painted walls?

So if you decide to repaint you have to paint it back before you move, but otherwise the walls are not work. That is rather unfortunate.

I've never had that happen!? Echoes aren't bad if you have carpet (common) or other furniture in the room, and insulation in the walls

also, admittedly, a friend heard I had to do the wallpaper, rang my door with a massive package of beer and just told me to sit down

and did it himself~ I had been up since two in the morning, cleaning and looking after the walls so WILDLY APPRECIATED

carpets are unusual here, pretty much! and I can't have it due to my allergies. But yes, carpets are super rare and are usually
